This is only a quick suggestion and it was something that used to be in place.

A personal notification when you employ another bodyguard, something like:

Oct 14, '09 07:06: Your new bodyguard "Camazotz" starts work today.

Something simple like that would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, if the bodyguard service sent you Camazotz for your protection, would you really want to know?

After you hire a bodyguard it tells you you just bought a new bodyguard. Why would you need another personal telling you you just hired one again?

Mainly so I could track the date & time it was purchased, as with any other personal notification.

Although I've just noticed this is listed in BG Management.

So this isn't required.

I was going to say. It tells you under the management screen when you hired them and when they were last attacked and trained.
