It has been brought to my attention that the way I roleplayed Deimne's Godfather promotion has offended some people. I wanted to explain my point of view in hopes to take back some of that offence.

My understanding (never being a Godfather myself), was that the person ready for Godfather was approached by the existing Godfather for a battle. I know ThomasRourke retired. But until the point in time a new Godfather was appointed in New York Thomas' name would be listed at the top of the locals list. My thread was roleplaying the approach of the current New York Godfather (listed in game as Thomas) to Deimne. I never meant to insinuate that Deimne literally shot Thomas, I was roleplaying the "behind the scenes" in game aspect of it.

To those of you who were offended. I apologize. I did not mean my thread as disrespectful to Thomas or what he had done for New York, this was just the angle I saw to roleplay the Godfather promotion.

Billy we might have not always seen eye to eye in the past but I served as a RHM in your city for months before tonight and would not have intentionally disrespected what you did to this point. I am sorry if it came across that way, like I said, this was just the angle I was roleplaying.

I found nothing wrong with the way your thread was written, if Thomas was actually killed, but 30 mintues prior he did his own RP saying his plans for retirement and then actually retired his account.

So it would have made more sense if it was some third party godfather that came in for hostile take over and Demine fought them off in honor of New York. 

I just think it doesn't make sense to have two RP stories withing an hour contradicting each other.  You cant shoot someone after they are dead

it was cool roleplayin..also was what it had to be in mafia world. But another point of view , Sir Thomas Rourke retired. He is not dead. So A roleplay which tells about how TR took over the NY to Sir Deimne , would be a proper one as well. Like , Thomas calls Deimne , they have a little chat , Sir Deimne kisses TR's hand ( A Sicilian mafia tradition ) and takes over the city.

I can see what both of you are saying and I see that know. But when I was writing my thread I was not thinking of going off Billy's, I was going off the in game (coding type) stuff. Maybe a different point of view, maybe shortsightedness on my part. Just wanted to let people know why it was roleplayed the way it was.

An unfortunate clash between role-play and the game's coding. Perhaps the admins could change it?

Roleplay should be encouraged at every opportunity and I for one am glad that you decided to write a roleplay on the issue of it. The fact that you've then come out on OOC to apologise for any insinuations or assumptions that appear derogatory toward the previous GF shows that you genuinely didn't mean to imply anything about TR in a negative sense and I believe people should be prepared to accept that and give kudos for a good roleplay.

I've had some expieriance with the same thing, unfortunately.

It's an honest mistake. Nothing should be taken away from the way ThomasRourke ran his city, obviously. However, when going to IRC the promotion to Godfather is role played in the sence that the person being promoted has fought and defeated the current Godfather. Ie, the persons who's name lies a top the city locals page. At that time it was ThomasRourke. So to role play a thread in this way, ofcourse you would use the same name. So I can see why it was made.

Just an honest mistake. Nothing more in my eyes.
