Kat opened a closet and began pulling out bandages, several small bottles and a small box.  She watched Tommy knock back the flask of whiskey.  Her eyes narrowed.  "Better drink it all.  I think there's some more in the back--"

She stopped speaking mid sentence as she head a noise from upstairs.  She could see Tommy's hand immediately reach for his gun.  She set the supplies down on the table and pulled her own gun from her coat pocket.  She aimed it at the landing just as a familiar figure came into view.
