I'd like to bounce an idea off people..

For as long as memory serves our world has offered suicide or retirement as options for ways out of the world.

What I'm suggesting here, plainly is a third option.

With "Sell Out" One could commit their PC in to a NPC-CA

This would be a one way change, with no going back.

The resulting officers could offer their services by the day for a cash fee, that fee being based on the rank the player was when they sold out.

Something like (again, just spitballing numbers)

NPC-MM - Made Man 1,000,000 (3 days)?

NPC-Capo - 2,500,000 (3 days)

etc..

The advantage to hiring one of these now 'fine upstanding officers' is that they would retain some/all the bodyguards they had when they retired which would give their boss a defense bonus. As with any character, they can expire after a total number of days and could even have some sort of predisposed allegiance system to members of the family they were from when they were PC's.

Throwing the idea out there, if anyone wants to tweak it, go for it.
