Exactly one day after the tussle and demise of John Doyle I sat in my new office at the hotel on the 17th floor thinking... really thinking. I made a call down to the reception desk and asked that Jezebel be sent up to my office right away. Within minutes she walked into the office.

"Your very quick to respond... sorry I had you worried about me last night. Come sit."

Jezebel sat in the chair across from me. There was a reason she was not on my lap this time. I explained myself so she wasn't confused as to what was going on.

"So I heard from Karmen what you said about love in our line of work!. She kind of Relayed the speech to me and I was impressed with your words. I also don't like to beat around the bush so I will get to the point. I assure you there is love in this line of work its just sometimes it comes to an end... more times then never it ends way to soon. However we need to make the most of these times and I'm not one to waste time."

I reach into my desk and pull out a small black box and make my way over to Jezebel. She replied "More jewelry?...KL you don't have to do this."

In pain from the bullet wound I get down one knee.

"Sorry this took so long but I need to answer the big question you had about love in this thing of ours... Jezebel... will you marry me?."

As I sit there in the chair I see KL reach into his desk and see him take out a small black box. My jaw immediately dropped open, hands started trembling and knees started shaking. as KL walks over to me and get on one knee, opens the box and asks the question that every woman waits for. 

I gasp and place my hand over my mouth, as tears start to flood my eyes.

"Yes, KL yes I will marry you!"

I slide the ring onto her finger.

"Remember... we always have to make the most of the time we have. I'm glad you said yes, seemed like a long time coming. I'm sure many guests you know here at the hotel will love to hear the news so go spread the word. I'll join you downstairs soon dear."

I lean forward and give KL a kiss.

"oh im telling everyone!" i give KL giigle

"ok love I'll see you downstairs." I gave KL another kiss and started to walk downstairs

After clearing up some paperwork I head downstairs to see how everyone was taking the news.

Upon hearing the great news, John stopped by to offer a quick congratulations.

"I'm very happy for the both of you.  Wish you all the best.  Congratulations and always be fair to each other"

standing in front of John with the biggest smile possible.

"thank you John and we will"

As I stand there hand and hand with KL with the biggest smile on my face that I've ever had. I look up at KL and see the pure happiness in his eyes which made me smile even more.

How did I become so lucky, it might have seemed fast but, I would change a single thing. I over hear Red talking to KL saying now he has to take care of two.

"oh Red you always watched out for me and I thank you for that"

I smile at Red as he disappears into the crowd.

standing just a few feet away looking at the happy couple, all I could do was smile. just as soon as i blinked and looked back it was gone in a flash. memories is all that I have now, nothing more but painful memories.
