Rourke, I did agree, until I seen the thread stating that your XP and Money would be taken away if you had no completed the voting, which then made me feel like it wasn't necessarily the players fault.

However, what about those who couldn't read the mail or one's who took it for granted and thought it was about why the +++'s were there? You should not get off the hook simply because you decided to ignore or not read the mail that was sent to you.

First of all, the subject of the mail was "The little +'s at the top of your screen." Maybe you were expecting something closer to "HEY YOU FUCKERS READ THIS MAIL ABOUT VOTING OR ELSE Y'ALLS GONNA GET KILLED?" I think it's about as clear as you can be. (SARCASM ALERT) I guess it's Squishy's fault for not having a better title for the mail. Frown face. (END SARCASM)

Secondly, if someone took that mail for granted or ignored it, then they are an enormous dumbfuck and fully deserved to be punished. I don't know what idiot purposely ignores mails from the administration regarding the game. I guess the quick chit-chat mails or cyber requests really clog up the ol' inbox, wouldn't you agree?

Finally, you are using a thread that is a year and a half old as the basis for your argument. If there wasn't a mail sent out EXPLICITLY warning users to actually vote, your entire point might have some merit on the basis that the thread was the only published piece of information with regards to voting. As it stands, the mail was a massive warning sent out to the entire site and only users who CONTINUED to defraud the system were punished.

It seems to me that this was a fairly open and shut case from the beginning.

Well the thread might be a year and a half old, but it was explaining what the little +++'s were at the top of the page, first off. Secondly, the admins killed the people and jailed the less offenders because they didn't finish the process and it was said they were taking advantage of the money ($5,000) and the XP points (which shouldn't be that much) when it was stated that you will not get the money or points if you didn't complete the form.

That's what I am saying is not the players faults. They were told something, it was wrong ( not blaming anyone for this). No one ever did come out and explain that it was wrong, until that mass mail came out to the users. Yes, they should have read the mail, but there is reason to believe that not everyone read the mass mail. If you want to blame them for not reading the mass mail, that is one thing, but you shouldn't come out in public and say that they abused the system. That is all I am saying.

I am not out here to fight for their revival or transfer their XP and points to their new characters (if they even came back). I am just justifying what was said originally when Vote Fraud was introduced and trying to get people to see that it wasn't necessarily abusing the system it was more negligence on their part to read and follow the directions given by the administrators of the game.

The argument that a year old thread superseded a recent mail is not a valid argument.

"Those of you who click the +'s but do not take the proper actions to vote, are cheating the system, and this is a dishonorable thing to do."

Clearly explaining that it is cheating means when you do it you suffer consequences.

Alright. I can see what I am trying to convey to you all is not getting out there, I guess. Therefor, I will step back and let actions take place for the punishments of these users. I am officially stepping out of this debate and will go on my way.

There is a large difference between someone not getting the point of what you're trying to convey and people understanding your point but disagreeing with you, providing an excellent argument to justify their point of view.

I believe Rourke and PedroRourke fully understand your point, AvonBarksdale, they just don't agree with you, and nor do I. The people who were killed were duly warned that what they were doing was defrauding the system and continued to do it. They were punished and deserved it.

To use a thread that is a year old as a justification to continue doing something that the admins directly warned users of recently in an appropriately titled mobmail with a clear directive, rather than just throwing up another thread, is hardly evidence to support your argument.

Well as long as they are getting what I am trying to say, then that's all that matters. I don't mind people disagreeing with me, not everyone can have the same point of view.

why cheat if you know you are going to get caught, then whacked? i myself would rather succeed. 

This is pretty good, voting is free cash and takes two seconds. I dont see why someone wouldnt put in the little code to make it a fair trade off.

I like that messing up a time or two isnt an automatic kill since those pages can be pain when it come to malfunctioning.

We were all sent a mass mail about this topic.

Those who cheated after the mail were punished. Those who stopped all cheating activity were left and got their one shot.

One of the vote links are broke, hasn't been working for me the last several days.

That particular one is a tad fickle. When it doesn't load try refreshing a few times. My guess is their server is not made for the traffic and that's why the connections time out.

Hmmmm, not sure how many of mine go through, but even when i do put in all the codes i usually on get 4 personal messages saying your votes went through.
