| WWSD... What Would Spud Do | Started by: SuperSpud on Nov 29, '07 09:56 |

SuperSpud walked confidently along 21st and 3rd, in the depths of Manhattan. Sighing to himself, he glanced around at the faces of the rich and wretched, knowing deep within his starchy soul that there was nowhere else for a root vegetable to be than here, in the midst of New York: A potato at the heart of the Big Apple. Life had been kind to Spud, and he knew it, though he had learnt a few hard lessons along the way, and felt it was time to give something back to the people. Surrounded by New York residents - the familiar mix of fraudsters and fiends, fat-cats and failures, he knew just what he had to offer, what had always set him apart from the crowd: Wisdom. Ladies and Gents! Spud's moustache twitched as he raised his voice above the cacophony of city hubbub. LADIES AND GENTS! Nothing. Drowned out by the irate punching of car horns, cat-calling of drunken bums and garbled rantings of Frank Butcher. Spud opted to raise himself above the crowd, both physically and verbally. Thus he hovered three metres above the sidewalk, his cloak billowing poetically at his side. LADIES! GENTS! FICTITIOUS SOAP OPERA CHARACTERS AND FOODSTUFFS! There are few amongst you who can profess to have led as happy and successful a life as I, SuperSpud. I have been as blessed as a vegetable could ever hope to be, and it is time I gave something back. Today I offer a tip, and a service... Something to aid you in times of strife, to assist you in the most angst-ridden of decision making processses, when confronted by life's moral maze... Four letters - that is all you need folks - four letters to guide you on the path to enlightenment: WWSD... What Would Spud Do? - Ask, and I shall spew forth my starchy innards by way of guidance. - Share your questions, and I shall gladly share my wisdom. What if a situation arises and I am not on-hand to assist? Simply repeat the four letters... WWSD?... and act accordingly. My advice is free* though WWSD merchandise will be available shortly from all good retailers. Spud out! *SuperSpud accepts no responsibility for consequences of following aforementioned advice. |

This appears to be a new low? There is a very similar thing currently running, it's called Christianity. What Would Jesus Do? I know I wont be purchasing any of these copied goods! SB storms off, wondering if the money will even go toward a good cause. |

What would Jesus do? Well, based on reputable literature, he'd talk, a lot. My advice is action-based and my merchandise is considerably more stylish than JC's ridiculous loinclothes. Spudtastic, one might say. |

Updated, sure, as long as I'm not required to do anything daft for the sins of anyone else... As I said to an aquaintance just the other day, I'm too old for potato salad or chipping purposes, but I'm spritely enough for a good mashing. There is life in the old Spud yet. Spud twitched his moustache. I genuinely feel that there is room enough for a bit of Spud in everyone's life. |

Sienna, talking potatoes are a dime to the dozen. Most spuds have little to say however - they are not the brightest of root vegetables - unlike carrots, who could talk the hind legs off a donkey. Not so in my case of course, hence the addition of "Super" to my name. I was SuperSpud long before I was able to fly, purely based on my phenominal IQ. |

| Actually Mr. Back, the phrase "What Would Jesus Do?" was a rip-off of another religion. Many of the teachings in Buddhism have used "What would Buddha do?" for centuries to show the middle path in any given situation. | |

| And then buddha died. So, obviously he didn't do whatever he was doing right. | |

He wasn't a god, he was a man. Men die. Jesus died too. So does that mean he wasn't doing things right? I am not Buddhist, I am Christian just like almost every other mafioso, but it is a good idea to be well informed about others. |

What would Jebus do? Die. What woudl Spud do? Probably the same after a while, particularly if he continues to stir up religious debate.... but I digress... Frank - one carries off Pringle and cap in just the manner currently adopted by yourself. You are a fine example of smart/casual, the practicailty of comfort without compromising style. Well done. Spud out. |

Here is the situation: A guy in the streets start advertising he has the gift of wisdom and start answering questions for everybody. In the other hand, you know you're smarter than that guy and his efforts seemingly only to bring religious fights in the streets. What would you do? Ask him a question? |
