"The Life Of Johnny P"

It was not the usual life that me and you are a custumed too.. No it was a much different life.. It was a life of Luxury...

I
had a wife and kids my wife was a very beautiful wife, one of the best
anyone could ever ask for. At the time I was working on the docks of a
transport company.. She would have home cooked meals on the table and I
didn't have to ask for anything the salt and pepper was already on the
table. The kids was in the bed asleep, because i worked third shift I
didn't have time to put them to be so she would do it for me.

But
one day all of that changed. I was out working on the dock's one cold
rainy November night when I witnessed a murder . Who did it ? Well even
that i couldn't tell you.. Not that I didn't see his face, but because
he came to me and made me an offer that I could not refuse.

The
date was November the 13th and I was working on the dock unloading a
load of freight and loading another truck to be shipped out that cold
nite. When a co-worker a buddy of mine kept pacing the floor saying he
owed some guy's some money over a horse bet that he made. Now this
wasn't your normal betting man he had a family to look after so every
dime he had he saved he didn't have the finer things in life or even
get to enjoy it. We made little pay and worked long hour's the union
wasn't where we were. I kept reassuring him that everything would be
ok.. He kept disagreeing saying that it wouldn't be , that these guy's
was the type that if you borrowed money from them you owed them 10
times the amount or your life is how you paid. I Couldn't help but
chuckle at him because I have heard about so many of these guy's
before. They threaten you tell you they will beat you up, break your
legs kill your family something but they never do. Obviously not these
guy's though. No these guy's were way different from what I seen. These
guy's if they said you owed them than you did. You didn't back out. The
guy's I was accustomed too wasn't like that you could back out you just
pay them a little at a time or tell them you would have it next week
and  everything would be fine.

The rain was pouring down it made
it even harder to see, it was so bad it was at the point where you see
car's pulled of the side of the road waiting for the rain to clear. I
looked out the dock door then back at him and reassured him nothing was
going to happen, but if we didn't get this work done we was going to be
worse than beat we would be fired. That wasn't what seemed to be
bothering Jim he kept pacing and I kept telling him it would be ok they
would give him another day to pay.. He said my day is now Johnny I need
the money now.. I didn't have the money now I told him but, I would
tomorrow and so would he because that was when we got paid.

Finally
he quit pacing the floor he began to realize it was the bosses time and
he couldn't afford to get fired. If he did get fired and the guy's did
give him another day to pay how was he going to pay then? How was he
going to keep his family up? He knew this and so did I, but that didn't
keep it off his mind that he owed these guy's. You could see it in his
blank stare as he worked. Not saying a word just looking down or
straight a head, never looking left never looking right just a blank
stare looking straight ahead.

I continued working on the dock
getting some more freight to load when they showed up, Jim didn't see
them he was in the back of the truck unloading his and about to be on
his way out . HEY..I shouted trying to get Jim's attention. I knew it
wouldn't be good if they trapped him in there, three of them and only
one of him and even the smallest one really wasn't that small at
all..They grabbed him and they shoved him against the wall , his back
slamming hard against the trailer wall. THUD. About the time the last
guy in slammed the door shut and stood out side the trailer as if to be
on watch. I could hear one of the guy's saying in a loud voice.

Where's
the money you owe the boss..Slamming him over and over it sounded like
they was breaking everything in the trailer. Glass breaking and the
sound of metal beams getting slammed in the floor. I was scared. Not of
them but for him.. I knew they was going to kill him, I knew it.

Finally
they knew my friend couldn't pay. I knew this cause one of the guy's in
the trailer said in a loud stern voice He don't have the money he can't
pay, guess we have to do what the boss said. The trailers door rolled
back and out came the two guy's with my friend the third one reaching
in his jacket they took him around back and when they came back around.
My friend wasn't with them it was just them three again.. I don't know
what happened to him but sometimes i wished i did. Then at times I'm
glad I didn't.

I was still unloading the load of freight acting
like I haven't seen a thing, what was I suppose to do? I knew I didn't
want nothing they just gave him. I never looked them in the eye and
never let them look at me straight in the face that was something I
didn't want.. I didn't wan them thinking that I owed them something
that I didn't..

After they took him around back the main Bruiser
out of the family came and told me the Boss has been watching me and he
wants a moment to talk . Will you come they asked ?

Of course I
didn't think I had any other choice but to say to tell them yes. I know
my friend hasn't come back yet and I didn't want to be another one that
didn't..

The bruiser as i'm going to call him, took me outside to a nice black Cadillac and put me in the back seat..

Hey Johnny he said... I started to wonder how he even knew my name..

I
know who you are he replied.. Without me even asking.. We been watching
you for a while.. You seem to be a pretty stand up guy . A guy that i
think could fit in with me and my fellow friends he called them.. A
friend of mine is a friend of yours if you think about it he said..I
didn't know what to say I knew I couldn't tell him to go to hell.. So I
just told him yes.. And obviously that's all I needed to say.

From
there on out he took care of me bought me a new car new wardrobe even
gave me a stack of money to take my wife and kids out.

I'm still getting used to the new life and i'll have plenty more experiences to share as i get more and more into it.

Benjamin "Lefty" Ruggiero stand's listening to one of his family member's talk about how he joined the family.

That's a good story my friend, i'd be glad to hear how you enjoy the life later.
