"Wouldn't it be so much better..."

A small shadow could be seen at the end of Adams st., it's owner round the corner. The wind played with his scarf that was wrapped around his neck and mouth.
"Wouldn't it? You know it would..". A touch of pressure could be heard in his voice. "Just take it George, scram".  Even when talking like that, he had a uncommonly soft voice. The other shadow bit his lips, handed some cash and ran off. He disappeared somewhere between two houses  - as far as you could call it a house -.

The shadow started to stroll all down Adams st. As he walked by the lanterns, you could see his face. Blue-greenish eyes; timid, but alive and awake they are.

    -   Now allow me to tell you a bit more..

This kid's name is Ross. Ross Portwood, although he denies that surname. The world knows him as Ross James, his mother's name. You know, the usual story, dad leaves, mom dies in labor, kid goes to orphany, orphany is hell and the kid runs off. Tragic eh?
Now, most of those kids become nothing but a street kid, a brat, good for nothing.

    -   That's the unusual part about this kid. He's got somebody to help him out, somebody.. to teach him the right things, right decisions, right people to know; the way to a respectful life.

I tell you this, to show you how lucky you were you stumbled across your somebody.. your crewleader. Without this person, you would have had no life - at all.

Often, people will stand here and listen to speeches made on these streets with a bored faced, a faraway look in their eyes, then they will step up and comment on how they've heard it all before and it was totally unnecessary to repeat it "so soon".

Definitely cannot say that here. This is a glowing tribute to Mr Grammauta and it's a pleasure to see something fresh, the story of your childhood, rescued by a Mafioso family head from the streets and raised in our very own "orphanage" of people who do not fit into legal society.

It's good to see we have a fire burning here in St. Louis, we all knew that, but its good too see when it shines it's brightest sometimes. Nice tribute to well deserved man.
