| The One Week to Live | Started by: Swarley on Dec 23, '15 17:31 |

It was a snowy, winter day in the Bronx, when Swarley walked into the crowded department store. With the holidays right around the corner, he knew that this would be an ideal location to meet a lovely lady. After a few glances around the store, he set a course for the shoe section. The papers had practically been shouting at women about their holiday specials. Hopefully, someone would be shouting about something other than shoes later. Arriving at the shoes, Swarley smiled at the location, filled with beautiful women all hoping to find the perfect fit for the season. That's when Swarley decided to make his move. He began coughing loudly as if the previous had been spent laboring in a coal mine. It continued until a caring brunette approached and asked if everything was alright. Everything was going according to plan. Tears begun to well up in Swarley's eyes and he looked away. Only for a moment though, before embracing her. "I'm sorry, I'm usually not like this," Swarley muscled out. "It's just that my doctor gave me the worst possible news this morning. I know that you're only a stranger in my life, but I need to tell someone. I've only got a week to live." The brunette stood in stunned silence, holding the well-dressed man who seemed to be on the verge of breaking down. She was unsure of what to say, so she continued the embrace and hoped that it would help. "Honestly, the worst part for me is leaving this world too early... before even experiencing the intimate company of a gorgeous woman like yourself," Swarley whispered before leaning back to look at her with the saddest eyes he could muster. No more words were needed. She took him by the hand and they left the store together. Back to her place, to share a "new" experience. The morning after, Swarley left before she woke. The spare key was safely secured in his breast pocket. Dropping it at the predetermined location, the job was just beginning. However, it was always more fun to play with the mark beforehand. Swarley headed for the rendezvous point as the sun was rising. |

Rufino rushes past the swarms of women in the department store, vaguely hearing Swarley mentioning that he had only one week to live. What a terrible pick up line, how could it possible work? As he shakes his head, he suddenly had a thought, almost as if the slight shake jolted something in his memory loose. Rufino smirks as he makes his way to the security department of the store. After he breaks in to the "secure" room, he puts something into the system before he makes his way out of the store. "One week to live...." Rufino mutters darkly. |

Rufino was already underneath the bridge when he saw Swarley walking around the bend. He shook his head in disbelief after yesterday's events. Swarley looked chipper, upbeat, and ready to take on the next step. "One week to live? Seriously?" Rufino chirped. "I can't believe you're going to pull that one out at a time like this." "Hey, what can I say? I like a challenge," Swarley cheerfully replied. "Plus, you know my best work always comes after a night of play. Work hard, play hard." "Yeah, maybe try working a little harder next time. I delivered the package, just like you requested. Are you going to fill me in on any more of the details or are you just going to stand around smiling to yourself all day?" Rufino responded. "You delivered the package? Guess who else delivered a package? Nailed it. I'm awesome," Swarley quipped. "But really, I was just supposed to steal this key. I thought you knew what the next step was?" |
