seriously guys was it that necessary to question this? A godfather of this thing of ours unexpectedly suicided. St louis was a very new business venture and we have very recently had an extensive war plague our streets. Many of our cities are full of the unranked children of the recently fallen.... as I am sure you well know Grin... again a Godfather suicided. we have already heard from the departed's right hand offering this protection... but come on.. can we give them a few minutes to get it together before attacking a simple protection request? |

Just to clarify, I did instruct Giovanni to act in my place if The RH, LH and myself were out of town, this being said I can understand the queries that have arose over the matter. |

This is getting off track and away from the matter at hand, which is the safety of the unsponsored St Louis members. The bottom line is, a Wise Guy who was unknown to the other cities was, very correctly, questioned on his authority. People cannot accept the word of a wise guy who is not an RH or LH. Giovanni wasn't necessarily in the wrong for doing what he had been told and trying to help his fellow city members, and those questioning it were certainly not wrong. As has been noted, people weren't questioning the issue of STL member safety, they were questioning a wise guy. Fizztastic and Grassboy have now cleared this up and made the request themselves, so we're sorted. |

Oh, I know Boaby. I am just stating what the Wise Guy did wrong. Personally, I would come out and throw a protection order for my city anyday. However, I do not have to. It is understood that anyone that shoots at a city dies. End of story. Personally, I feel this speech by Mr. Torrio was unneeded. I have always felt that a families inner structure should not interfere with worldwide matters. By that, I mean that the only people that should be giving out protection orders, auth speeches, rules, etc are the Godfather, Family Leaders, Right Hand Men/Women and Left Hand Men/Women. I understand that Mr. Torrio is within the chain of command in his family, but I have always felt that this should be within the family only. The reason he was not taken seriously, is the fact that he is an associate to the family and only a Wise Guy. It just looks bad, in my opinion. However, I do thank the man for having the courage to come out here and attempt to protect the members of Saint Louis. Twas a grand guesture. I also thank Don Grassboy and Fizztastic for taking the time to come out here in the streets and clear things up. |

Being a Jew - a super jew nonetheless - Noah was extremely good at sniffing out an opportunity in the same way that Iota could sniff out 1 part whopper in 1,000,000 parts of air. At this moment, he was thinking of the possibility of beginning a 'Mafia 101' class at the just 4 laffs bar n grill on a Thursday evening. From what he'd heard here, there was demand; but no supply! Now was not the time to mention it though, so out of respect he bowed his head and spoke quietly. Rourke, he of the rubber-toe, was a dear friend to me. I could count all the stars in the sky and this still would be a smaller number than the amount of times we sat together in the coffeeshops, sharing a piece of shortbread and probably a joke at those not fortunate enough to be as svelte as ourselves. Remembering him as I do,it makes me sad that you stand here not 12 hours after his death. He'd be turning in his grave; that's for sure, but if he was here, I can guarantee he'd have one thing to say just now: Y'ALL NEED TO STOP WITH THE JUNK. |

Awesome ponders for a moment the conversation. And then he works his super-brain around the issue until deciding on an awesomely awesome response. |

I think some of these responses are ridiculous. It doesn't matter if it is a Wise Guy, a Don or even a thug who asks for protection. The respons should still be the same. Keep the guns away from the protected. It is simple to understand and follow this command/request. It's probably just some people who thinks they are too good to follow the words of a Wise Guy. Well done, Giovanni :) //W |

Ah, but that's the issue, Windy. A Wise Guy has no right to issue a command, nor do they have the standing (by themselves) to command protection over anyone. This is, of course, discounting any under-Made's that may be sporting a different, distinguished suit. |

Mr Furb, does he really not have the right if he is backed up by the highest ranked leader in that city? If no one believes him then fine, go ask his leader about it and the problem is solved. No need to whine about it in the streets, much easier to go directly to his leader isn't it? I don't think Giovanni was wrong in any way, neither was Grassboy. Grassboy gave him an order/task/assignment (call it whatever you want), so Giovanni just did what he was told to do. Gassboy pobably trusted him enough to do this. |

a thug, gangster or goomba can be a RHM/LHM but a Wise Guy cant request protection for others in need? |

Windy, no one is saying either of them were wrong in their actions. What is being argued, I guess would be the best word, is the fact that no one was aware of Mr. Torrio's rank in his family. If you were to look at the man, you would see an associate of the family. Also, in my experience, I have noticed that unless you carry a clear sign of your power(Leader, Right Hand and Left Hand) then you have no standing in any city but your own. Therefore, a Wise Guy coming to the streets ordering Godfathers and Dons not to take shots at eight or nine people looks pretty bad. As to your question about rank, that has been discussed many many times. Anything under Made is basically a mule, unless they have been given the position of Right Hand or Left Hand. Until you earn your button, you have no standing in family matters. As for the upper echelons of a family, they have nothing to do with worldly matters unless they are one of the obvious ones, as I have stated before(Leader, Right Hand or Left Hand). Sure, someone in the upper echelons of a family have power over the people below them in the family. However, that does not give them power over people in other cities. Alexander walks back to his HQ, tired of this discussion. |

One is a status, one is a rank. In rank terms, they are effectively all the same....non-Made. However, someone given the title of RHM or LHM has been given status by their city that is instantly recognisable to all other cities out there. Giovanni was nothing but a Wise Guy from another city, which is why the debate (not whining) arose. At the time of his initial request, he had no recognisable status within his own city, beyond his word. If we take the word of a Wise Guy wandering around claiming he speaks for a leader, then we are in trouble. This has all already been covered and resolved. A dead horse is being flogged. |

I am not going to make any statements or claims or demands, but I have a strong feeling that Boss Grass will want the Late Fizz's Members protected. Just an old mans gut feeling |

Right who is flogging Bald_Scouse_Virgin? He is a ranked member of our family and I will see Ozstriker buggered before I will let BSV get a flogging. Oh Boaby was meaning metaphorically speaking. Sigh its been a long day in the office and that dead horse of a Boss aka BsV I have to carry has been getting me down. On the subject I think what a lot of people are saying or trying to point out is quite simple. Requests like these are simply that even when coming from Dons. If you want to back it up you need to ensure you have the muscle to do so. Godfather Deimne, Godmothers Marietta, Aurora and Scipta are the type of people who can say without much concern. "Joe Bloggs and co are under my protection. Any deaths will be dealt with severally" |
