| The Sanctity of Life - Thoughts | Started by: Jesus_Christ on Dec 28, '15 20:46 |

Some of us, some of the people in this thing, took a vow, dedicated themselves to a way of life, with a burning saint symbolizing the sacrifice and commitment made. And yet, they are gunned down on the words of one person; a CL, often with no explanation given. This situation is simply intolerable and must be stopped. I call on all men of influence to start a debate on how best to preserve the sanctity of life. I think that each man, of Made rank and above, outwith times of war, should be tried by three CLs before a death sentence is passed. Your thoughts? |

Rayln frowned, "Why does anyone's opinion matter when it comes to dealing with members of your own family?" she asked him. "If someone does something that is against the family rules, you shouldn't have to discuss with other leaders on how to run your family." she chuckled, "If anything, doing something like that is just going to make you look weak and might even put a target on your back." |

Because, I have already said, that person has taken an oath and deserves respect and protection |

I must concur with the lady nearby. Me as a lowly wiseguy, I have no input for my own, but I will agree with miss Rayln. I don't feel as if ANY outside family should influence your own syndicate barring maybe your sister families and your Godfather's personal outfit. Some leaders are more lenient than others. One member may shoot an agent by mistake and get killed for it in city A. One member may shoot an agent by accident and get demoted and pay a hefty fine in city B. Which is better? Allowing your member to harshly learn from their mistake, or having them learn and earn back what was theres before? It is quite interesting I suppose. Then again, I am a wiseguy though and I know nothing. |

What is this street for if there is a law to bind us all. Things happen and that is the way of the streets. |

Anna listens to Jesus_Christ speak. As she does so, her eyebrows shoot so far up her forehead that they almost land on Rayln. "Crew leaders now and throughout history are in their position because either their Godfather believes, or in case of contests because they believe, in the quality of their judgement. Jesus, my friend, can you imagine the insanity of now telling those crew leaders that actually, their judgement is shite and not worth trusting?" Anna lights up a cigarette and inhales deeply. She only bothered to light up when particularly perplexed these days, and the occasion seemed to call for it. Slowly, she exhales. "There are many things in this world of ours that have eroded the worth of positions of power. The fact that districts now means that any and every fucker ends up in some kind of suit, the fact that there are now probably less bloodlines who don't have Godfather blood in their veins than do. One of the few things that, for the most part, our crew leaders have retained, is the ability to run their crew however the hell they choose. If they want to shoot a member, then guess what? It's their right to do it. They don't owe anybody an explanation, though some choose to give it. Just exactly the same as a Godfather can run about and kill whomever he or she wants, and they don't owe anybody an explanation, though they can choose to give one." Anna took another long drag from her cigarette, blowing a couple of smoke rings as she exhaled. "Besides that, can you imagine the logistical nightmare? A member fucks up and shoots something they shouldn't, knows that they have as long as it takes for their crew leader to gather together three other crew leaders for a trial. What do they do in this window of opportunity, knowing that their death is being pushed for? Oh, aye, that'll be it. Go on a shooting spree and take others with them. Not to mention, how does one choose the judges? If they are crew leaders from the same district or city, how do we know they won't just agree to go with the judgement of the first one?" Taking a final long pull from her cigarette, Anna threw it to the ground and crushed it under her heel. |
