The funeral home was dim and there were a few wise guys here and there. Just the crew he was in was there and some other family members (Father, Mother, etc). Nicky wasn't too well known yet in the underground would though he's been seen around a lot. There were lots of chairs and people talking amongst them selves.

I walk up to the podium and everyone looking at me to say something. I haven't spoken in public much so I'm a little nervous at public speaking.

"Nicky was a stand up guy. He was a hard worker. He loved traveling, selling heroin and robbing post offices. You know, all moral things in life he loved doing. But the number one thing he loved the most in his short life was his family. He would of done anything for his family. He would always tell me, 'Richie. You go to put family first no matter what. If you don't your will end up letting the current take you away from every thing you love, like your damn beans.' Yeah, I'm going to miss that moron. Rest in piece Nicky Sticky Moreno."

I step away from the podium and walk out of the funeral home. I get into my Model Ford A and slam the door. "Now let's get to work." I say as I open a can or beans.

Bowing her head listening as the words are spoken, she takes a white rose out of her jacket and places it in the casket before moving on her way.

Battista peeks into the funeral home as he heard words being recited. He wasn't the one to succumb to curiosity all too much but, the hell with it. He'd linger in the doorway as the man at the podium spoke his words.

Rest in peace.

Battista would whisper to himself before stepping out from the funeral home as the man spoke his piece.
