Money Transactions in the Business Districts Started by: Sweetsuns on Dec 30, '15 02:14

Firstly, I'd like to say that I am the first generation to enter the streets of MR.
My knowledge of the Business Districts are not as rich as most of the people that has been on the streets for years and generations.

With that being said, I'd like to suggest a Money Transaction GuideLine for the general business in the business district of MR.
This is Not a coding or game interface suggestion, just a general guideline for money transaction.

Now what do I mean by "Money Transaction"? Well, I will get into that. just hold on a sec.
let me list the two transactions I see around in the districts.

#1

I'm not sure how everyone else role play within the business district of MR.
but usually, when I go to a bar or a restaurant and order something, I always make sure to pay a small sum to the owner of that post or "Store" via Bank transfer. So for example, if I go to EazyDayz bar and he, the bartender, pours me a shot, I would transfer some money to him through the bank with maybe an extra tip of $12.

#2

I also know that some posts on Business districts are based merely on role play, Even if the food you order cost $20 you don't actually pay it, you just go along with the role play without the "money transaction".

With the two types of transaction out of the way, I think you guys have an idea of what I mean by "money transaction". Yes, #1.
You can tell that every store owner/Poster in the business district places a lot of effort into the advertisement they place. Of course hoping for many replies and fun role playing time!
This is why I believe there should be a "money transaction" between sales to show an appreciation toward the owners, a little cash they could make for the effort they've put in.
Now obviously this will be a little more work for the owners since they will have to think of the price for their merchandises and list them out. But definitely worth it.

And Of course again, owners who wants to follow these guidelines can follow it, or else ignore it!

Now Lets talk about the Guideline, It's quite simple.

-If your store does support "Money Transaction", it should be clearly stated in the advertisement in business district.

-If your store does support "Money Transaction", list out the prices of the item you're selling on the advertisement.

-If you decide to enter(post in) a store that supports "Money Transaction", Make sure you "pay" right after you make a post.

Finally, I would like to talk about the Currency in Business district.

As we all know a bottle of beer in real life would cost around... what $4?
Transferring $4 through bank to the owner would just be meaningless since every petty crime we do, we can earn up to $500~$1,000.

To make their business worth a while I'd like to introduce a new currency "BD"
"BD" will be x100 the value of a Dollar($).
"BD" will replace our real life currency of the dollar.
Example as below:

1BD  = $100.00

5BD  = $500.00

10BD = $1,000.00

If I were to buy a bottle of beer from the business district. It will cost me 4BD, which is $400.00
I will transfer the value of $400.00 to the bar tender via the Bank.

Again, this is just a suggestion to make the Business District a little more interesting.
I welcome questions, suggestions, and improvements!

Thanks for taking your time to read!!!

I think this is very useful and would not mind implimenting it at Athena's cafe: http://mafiareturns.com/comm/thread/768833#11394019, where the prices are always low anyway, lol.

I really like this suggestion, the role play aspect of MR is always good fun and can only help boost the RP experience, anyone who is committing time to host an RP scenario, who then brings in a small bit for there time is more inclined to keep it running and keep interest high for new people join in the acton, this will only be a positive and add more sense of atmosphere and community.
Thumbs up from me.

I really like this suggestion.. Although..

I don't think it will fix anything. Currently, how many people, or even, how much of a % of MafiaReturns use the business district? Making posts *cost* money potentially is fine. It adds an awesome realism effect and makes people want to own businesses which could possibly help flourish the business districts but; Very few people even post now, what would make people who don't now, want to go post then?

A lot of MR don't roleplay anymore. That's fine, it's not everyone's cup of tea. Some people like myself are casual players who simply don't have a lot of time to play, so when I do play, it's to do drug deals, petties, whatever, not spend 45 minutes writing one post.

With this game becoming more and more mobile friendly, dozens of players play from their phones now which is killing roleplaying in a way.

Like I said; I like this suggestion, it's just a good suggestion in a bad time.

I like this suggestion because of the added realism. If you open a business, you start getting income. It makes sense.

But I agree with Mint on the aspect that: not very many people role-play anymore. It's sad but it's true.

Maybe this suggestion will pick up a bit more traffic if people start posting in businesses more often.

Does this really need to be hard coded? Users can do this now and if a person doesn't support your system, boot them from your establishment.
Report Post Tip

Very few things have to be "hard coded" Avery, but they are. Let us recall Phil Steaks infamous 'oops I mean to mail you' shot on Severe, a fully capped Don RHM to Chicago many years ago. It became such an uproar that the administration added a 'Wack Safety Button' which was never needed.

It was okay to have, but it makes people who can't control their guns look stupid. It wasn't needed at all, but it's here.

As I said prior; This feature provided by OP is nice, but very unlikely due to the very few people who take a roleplay game seriously.

It's just click buttons and wacking now a days here. Roleplay is so 2010.

I appreciate everyone's fast replies and inputs!

This money transaction is a mean to boost the player's RP experience of the game. However, I also believe it can be a mean to make money on here! In my original post I gave an example of the price of beer being just 4BD, which is $400 in MR currency. Just think about all the possibilities.

Some of the great examples are Andromeda Architecture and Tabori Tattoo Parlor Located in New York. These are great business ideas and it deserves recognitions.
-Ronin's Tabori Tattoo, each Tabori/Tattoo could cost up to 100BD or even 1,000 BD.
-Andomeda's business is brilliant, Creating a business description for another player. I don't mind paying a well written advertisement 10,000BD.

RP aside, I think it's a great way to even bring new players to the Business District for some money.

Let's even think out side of the box!

You can make an advertisement offering others a job!
you can ask people to help you with certain errands or even gather information! if the informations are what you're looking for, "money transaction" comes in place, you pay the visitor.
It's definitely not a one sided business. It's an open street and an infinite possibilities.

-Bounty hunter, pay people for a kill.
-Private Detective, Locating a persons locations
-Drug Informant, Providing hourly information of an areal Drug prices.
-OC, Seeking for Daily OC members.
-Tailor, Creating suit for players. ( Already exists )

these are just random things that popped out in my mind but there are more. And i'm sure most of these already exists.

You can earn money through your business or you could OFFER jobs to others in the business districts.

At the end of the day, I just hope it can help people make some extra bucks and at the same time enjoy the RP side of the game.

Thanks for all the inputs, keep it coming!

I like it, this idea add a sort of real feeling to the RP aspect and maybe a small % could go to the GF/CLs and to the business owner.

I really like all your ideas on here Suns,
Any adoption of this would be good for adding to the RP experience.

All though I think Mint is right with more and more mobile users making Rp less important and casual gamers trying to get there crimes and busts done as number one priority, this still leaves any like minded RPers to adopt the ideas.
