So this is the movie that supposedly everyone has been waiting on for years now. The director from the Titanic is also the director for this movie which is why it is so hyped up. In my opinion it looks wicked cool, but I don't believe it will bring in as much as the Titanic did or come close to being as popular as the Titanic. The fact that the Titanic was a real ship and it actually did sink I think helped it bring in so much money, but back to the Avatar. Going to be just another sci-fi movie? Will it be crap? What do you think? |

Its been a while since ive seen a "3-d" movie, so when i went to the screener for this I was blown away at how far 3D has come :) The background scenery is amazing, the world they created shows that they put a *lot* of work into it. I cant stress enough that the visuals are amazing in this movie, however.... and I dont know if its just me - but the non humans in this movie are... too close to human that we compare them to human so they look very.. goofy? If they were a little less humanoid in shape, I wouldnt have subconsciously compared them - and found them lacking. The screener I went to was only about a half hour, so I wasnt able to get the full character development they intended, and I'm sure I was only spoonfed the best parts of the movie, but all in all it looked very promising. |

Looks to be another sci-fi movie with an average plot. I'm not sure what the theme is, based off of the trailer, but I did gather it includes yet another typical romance aspect. Amazing visuals it may have but what substance is left after they are removed? Are the values held in the movie by the characters skewed toward black and white, with no Grey areas to enhance the story? I am jealous though. How did Izzy get to see a screener? :p |

Aye. I was wondering that myself. I'm quite jealous of the fact that he got to see that. I agree that it seems to be an average plot with a typical romance, but then again...when a movie goes out of the box it usually is a flop. So most directors seem to stick to what they know is safe and will make money. I'm still quite excited to see it as I have always loved a good action/sci-fi movie which from the action scene I saw looks good. Hopefully what they showed is not the few good parts and there are more! |
