I hear a shot
in the dead of night,
the running away
with plenty of fright,

sirens out-loud
of cops and meds,
another young boy
with a bullet in his head,

day in and day out
it's the same ole' thing,
young men in the life
of gangbanging,

for colors or turf
or drug deals gone bad,
it doesn't matter
it's all still sad,

our weeping mother's
in the funeral halls,
the pain of brother's
as another one falls,

One day they're in
their chosen gang,
then in the next
they're gone with a bang,

then there are those
who want to belong,
their existance in life
will not be long,

if not with a bullet
in their heart or head,
then soon they'll be living
in the nearest state pen......
