The next morning I woke up in surprise I actually went to bed. The sun light was beaming throw the slot of the folded tint which was the door, and the temperature was mild, back in the states in bama it would be hot as can be right now. As I was walking out of my tint a lance cpl named Joey from Johnnys squad ran up to me an told me about the 3 wounded men from priest squad an was saying that 2 were shot in the limbs an the other received a bullet in tha chest, and wasn't gonna make it. I took a minute to try to remember there names, but hell I didn't even know what they looked like.

I paused for a minute to think whats next on my agenda an then told him to go fetch my sergeants an he replies "yes sir, but...." I reply "but what?" he stares at me with the same expression I hade seen on nicks face the night earler and he says "the men are worried sir, that this mission will require more men to take the town." I reply "don't you worry son about how many men it will take... now go do as I sayed." Well he trots along, and about 10mints latter here we was again faced with unfamiliar territory, and orders to give out that I do not know to give. I tell my sergeants that were breaking camp in 5mints so get your men ready. We hit the road towards Molar Hill.....

We end up on a small dirt road going straight across the open cow pastors with Bucky, and Johnny's squad in front, and priest an nicks squad in the back with me in the middle of the hole platoon. I was reading the map while walking an it says there so post to be a allied town up ahead then I am walking straight all the sudden I walk into one of the privates back pack by bumping into him. I look around to see why he had stop, and then you hear Bucky scream out "fall back!!!! Fall back and take cover!!!!!" men scatter to the sides of the road, while I was jumping into a ditch a loud noise rung out in the sky, all you hear is machine guns going off, I look up there's about 6 damn german planes headed toward us I start to look around to were we could run off to. Theirs a tree line maybe 1 to 2 miles on the other side of the cow pastors so I yell out "men, run to the trees!!!! Run damit!!!! Run!!!!" we all take off like a bunch of mice in a field.

I could hear those guns getting closer while we was running, between the sounds of my heartbeat, men screaming, an feet hitting the ground I couldn't think. All I could think about was those trees, and those trees would offer safety. Those planes were screaming inn behind us then god had answer are prayers. While we was half way across the field and german planes behind us, over the tree tops with a reddish sky as the background we see a hole squadron of p51 mustangs fly over those tree tops all you see is there machine guns spit out specks of light and the sound of there bullets flying over are head straight for those german planes behind us. While still running you got Bucky saying " hot damn boys, theres are planes!!" an priest looks like he hade a tear of joy roll down his face, and Johnny started laughing.

Heck for one moment we all thought we was gonna get guned down in the field, an bam its like god showed up at the right time, there ant another feeling in the world to see your buddies show up when death is so close to you. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude and happiness to see them I couldn't do anything else, but stop and start smiling.

P51s were bursting out shells while the german planes tried to make a 360 an run away. They didn't even tried to fight, it look like a pack of dogs after rabbits, 3 german planes got shot down while the others were running. The mustangs were chasing after them and the entire platoon on the ground was jumping up an down, while cheering at the same time. Its quite a site to see a dogfight right over your head, Johnny saying "give em hell boys.... Give em hell....."

the planes fly right over us chasing after the germans, an soon they were out of are sight. We all are looking at the sky with some kind of great fullness, like it was majestic to see. My heart beat done calm down an I order the men to get back on the dirt road. O Joey is walking beside me an ask "are we going toward that town again sir?" I reply "yea were going there, and try to get some supplies an food." While we walking back toward the road I had this great worm feeling over me like I was being watched over........ To be continue
