RalphieBeans, please tell us where anyone called people names? The only places in any retorts where descriptive language was used towards any individual or group of people was where I referenced "intelligent employers" and Furb said the word "rebel" to indicate people trying to hide their online MR activities at a place where it would not be acceptable to play openly.

Neither of these are really 'name calling' and certainly neither are offensive. However, with your contextual use of the word 'pathetic', I can only assume that you were referencing Furb's statement "if you're playing a text-based mafia game so much to the extent that you need a "ZOMG IT'S ZE BOSS!!1!" function, then that's quite frankly pathetic." in which Furb is opining on the act of needing this feature as a means of 'self-preservation' and not commenting or calling names of people who do it, only the act.

So really no one needs to calm down, as no one seems to be riled up (though you do seem to be the only one to have to censor your language), and perhaps more thorough reading of retorts would be a prudent move.

Im just saying, find a better word to use because some people may find it offensive. The reason being is even though Furb was just stating that it's a pathetic act people might take that to heart as if he/she was saying the person him/herself is pathetic for using this act/feature at work. If they are using this site while working I think that just means someone is doing a good job with this site. I'm probably just reading to much into it though. Personally I'm not offended at all and I think the feature is cool even though I dont use it at work I can still use it for this game if it is a functional calculator. I mean no offense to anyone and I'll just leave it at that.

Honestly, I'm of the opinion that the feature is more a bit of fun than a serious feature and as such, am shocked to see the level of thought gone into undermining personal responsibility and the like.

With or without this feature, people will play at work or school - that's an absolute fact.

So, to push on with the more playful side I believe this feature is in tune with:

I want to implement a wack back feature to this feature.

The premise: People playing at school who use this feature are doing so against the will of their employer or school.

Thus, the wackback feature, 1% of the time would re-direct the user to a photo of Clause in his Friday night frock bending over and blowing a kiss at the camera, I chose this image as there are numerous to chose from.

Personnaly, I'd rather take the rap for playing games than having a fat man in a dress on my screen.

Hey, I got a bit of an issue.

The new 'X' tab, blocks the minutes of the game clock.

Anyway this could be moved, or something? It's annoying me greatly. Maybe even having the option of turning it off?

If people are going to get offended because they read what they want to read, assign their own meanings to phrases, and generally twist what people say just for the purposes of fulfilling some internal need for conflict and self loathing, then more power to them for going off and crying and making a scene. To me, that's what's truly pathetic. If you come here to this game... a Mafia based game where the point is corruption, cronyism, backstabbing, deceit and power grabbing, and you're offended about what's written down in the forums (in or out of character), a public place of text debate and free exchange of ideas, barring ACTUAL harassment of the individual and not the arguing of their talking points (or subsequently presented attitudes), then perhaps this place isn't for the weak of heart.

And back on track before this thread gets derailed into a completely different discussion, as of this post, the calculator is a non-functioning feature, serving no other purpose other than the intent stated by the admin for the "tens and tens" of Mafia users who requested it but for whom I assume few will find to be a legitimate cover.

As for Rhuarc's suggestion, that's just downright scary. *Shudders.*

Hm. So this got a little off track, but seeing as some(one) appears to be confused with my statement (... and gender), I thought I'd confirm what GingerAle addressed quite eloquently. I was referring to the act being pathetic, not the people themselves. I know plenty of smart people who do stupid things. I even know of a few stupid people who sometimes do smart things.

If you would like me to call you names however, let me know. I'd be more than happy to oblige.
