Other ways to earn credits? Started by: Rich_Uncle_Pennybags on Dec 05, '09 08:27

I just had a suggestion of other ways to earn/make credits. As of now I can only think of two different ways.

Maybe voting can earn you like a few cent per vote instead of cash and after so many votes you get some bonus credit money or at random you get a credit boost.

Also if you refer so many people that stay and play for a certain amount of unknown time or something like that you can get credits.

If you like the idea and can think of some other game benefiting ways to get users to play, stay, and do. Feel free of course to post here.

this is a good idea but instead of switching the votes to credits you should be able to choose which one you get money or credits

As of now, you get cash as a reward for a lot of activities on the game.  With that cash you can chose to purchase credits at a user-defined price.  I fear that if we gave credits to users that we would inadvertently be giving a game assigned value for the credit which could undermine the users that chose to dabble in the marketplace.  Example: if you earned 2,000 or .01 credit for voting, then that sets a static price of 2,000 = .01 or 200,000 = 1 credit, therefor all credits are worth 200k.  We think the value of credits should be dictated by the current conditions of the marketplace and how the buyers/sellers respond to it, rather than be done by code elsewhere in the game.

We built the marketplace exactly for the situation that you are speaking of - a user who has earned cash in game through work, is able to purchase credits.

Well explained squshy..

i guess that clears the issue.

I am new here. Just so i can get it clear in my head, Are you saying once you have earned enough money to play the market, you can decide to ge credits instead?

Report Post Tip

Its reasonable because we shouldn't only use money to buy credits

Report Post Tip

What Squishy is saying is that people who work hard and earn game money can use game money to purchase credits. I dont believe that its being implied that once you reach a certain point in voting you can deciede between game money or credits.
