You should have seen the fleece jumper thing my grandparents-in-law got me it was fucking hideous, it looked like polar bear fur something kanye west might wear not me!

Although this wasn't actually me I would like to share this tale of woe.

My friend (13) came down to Christmas morning with his family one year in the mid to late 90's. Everyone was there and the Christmas spirit was plentiful.

As was tradition the children opened their presents first. The youngest unwrapped a Playstation one. He was so excited. My friends anticipation of all the presents to come grew and grew. He went to unwrap his present, a huge bulky object in the corner of the room, but was told by his parents "No Matthew, you go last.". This only raised his excitement. So the eldest went next. He unwrapped a load of Playstation computer games. Fifa, Resident Evil, it was a veritable smorgasbord of games. By this time my friend was giddy with excitement. What could possibly be his present? A Playstation and games had already been unwrapped. What was it that was taking up all that space in the corner of the room.

"OK Matthew" his mother said. "You can open yours now."

Up Matthew went, slowly reaching towards the wrapping paper. Tearing it excitedly he gazed upon his gift in bewilderment.
