Often leaders are criticized for their actions or how they handle a situation, people spend hours telling them what they did wrong and blah blah, if only we spent that much time telling them what they did right eh? Anyhow back to my point, we always want to point out what leaders do wrong and how they made the wrong move, or decision but honestly could we do any better. If you were the highest rank of the society and had the strongest family in Mafia history what would you do? Would you work on bettering the life, would you work on making as much cash as possible? Maybe kill off the other families? What would you do, if you had all the power and couldn't be stopped? |

Hard to say really. You can only judge a situation on its merits at the time. Many decisions are made in the course of history that can at the time seem wrong and later prove to be the smart move. Meanwhile some decisions look the best thing to do and can turn out to be disastrous. It is not a popularity contest we are engaged in, a Boss should not care if their rivals like them, only that they respect them. If people respect you in life, then what they or their ancestors say in death matters not. I don't believe in trying to better things. How can you quantify the general betterment of society? Bringing success to yourself and those who stand with you is as good an action as any for the most powerful Boss around if you ask me. |

Could I do any better? Yes. In my sleep. At first, I thought maybe that it had been so long since we have had a great leader, that these guys didn't have anyone to model themselves after...but that isn't really true. It was less than a year ago that we had leaders doing innovative things (although not always popular). We had three families at the same time issuing their own weekly newspapers. Taxes and rules that were unique to the various cities were implemented and enforced. Leaders were more outspoken and came to the streets frequently (only RonMexico is currently doing this). Nobody is born a great leader. They must have a role model to learn from. If a leader's bloodline hasn't been around long enough to learn to be a great leader, they shouldn't be leading until they have more experience. If they have been around long enough, they really have no excuse other than their own ineptitude. I guess then, they have to ask themselves: "What is it I plan to accomplish? Why do I even want to be a Boss?" If you can't answer that question immediately, you are a shit leader. More often than not, wishing to become a boss is a knee-jerk reaction to satisfy ego. If this is why you are leading a family, please die immediately. Leaders are responsible for molding La Cosa Nostra into an exciting and profitable organization. NOT to sit on their asses and look awesome being in bold. |
