Very recently I began reeducating myself on classical music and composers.  There is a rich history here that I must confess, I have not taken the time to truly experience in full.  So I am curious if there are other individuals who take a great enjoyment and pride out of 17th, 18th, and 19th Century composers.  If this is the case, please share your favorite melodies and who it was composed by. 

I must also admit that Beethoven is my favorite composer so far.  He is always portrayed as the most revered composer of his time, but lets be honest in saying that there were many other greats long before Beethoven.  In the early 18th Century alone, music changed the very landscape of politics and culture.  However, sticking with Beethoven, my favorite melodies are:  1) 9th Symphony Finale; 2) Fur Elise; 3) Moonlight Sonata

I am curious as to what everyone else enjoys listening to from this period of Renaissance and Enlightenment.  Do share!

I too am a big fan of Beethoven's symphonies. My favorite is the 9th but don't dislike any of them. I also like Mozart's symphonies the 25th is by far my favorite.
