I go to stand up with out responding to Joey to look around at my men. Priests had snuck around the stores and happen to find a germen soldier firing from the other side of the corner. Priest sneaks up on him with his bayonet, with gentle care he wraps around the soldiers neck an thrusts the knife back toward him with a smooth motion in one stroke, the soldier drops to his knees with a pause on his face of no expression of disbelief to see heaven in his eyes.

Priest just stands there with no movement or recognition of what he has just done. 2 germen soldiers start running toward priest firing there side arm, an yet priest still stands there like a statue. I go to raise my rifle an begin to aim down my barrel with complete concentration. My left eye is squeezed tight shut with my right eye wide open looking at the first germen running toward priest, I go to squeeze the trigger aimed at the germen, bang! bang!! bang!!! I release 3 shots out 2 hit the first one right in the chest and the third bullet nails him right in the head, his head bounces back an forth as he falls face first in the dirt while his body slides a couple of inches in the mud.

I turn a 180 degree an yelled to Joey "get your ass down to Jonny an tell him to bring his men up here!!!" Joey runs off. I bend back down behind the wall, I notice that there was blood coming from my arm, I guess it's from the fragments of that nade that hit me. I start to look around for the radioman, then nick appears at my side an ask "you ok sir?" I respond "yea, where the hell is the radioman?" nick replies "he received a bullet in the head, but I grabbed the radio an called in air support on them tanks up there." I ask nick how his position is doing, and he says "well my unit was hit by those tanks, 6 are lying down, I believe 4 of them are dead....." nick had some blood running from his head. The germens are advancing like mice after cheese, an then your hear those beautiful engines in the air coming are way.

"Those are our planes sir" says nick. I start to yell to priests unit "fall back!!!! Fall back!!!" I tell nick to run to buck and tell him to let him know that air support is coming and nick looks at me with a surprise an I ask " did you hear what I said nick?" nick looks at me with some disappointment. "Sir, bucks' crew got over ran an shot to hell an back....." I couldn't believe the words I just heard, I just sit there an dosed off at the ground wondering when an why it happened, by that time the planes start screaming in with bombs on the opposite side of the town.

Bombs hit the ground as the germens try to retreat fire just gulped them in like quicksand, buildings started to fall, I hold my head down with my hand over it so fragments doesn't hit me. My men start to run backwards out of the way of bombs, heck they about killed priest, he was just walking back with no worries. The bombs had gotten the rest of the germens an there tanks. After those bombs hit I just got the relief that no other pleasure or drug could give me. It was finally over.....

The after affect was to great to imagine, Priest had lost 5men, Nick had lost 6, Bucky an his hole squad was wiped out, and Johnny had lost 4men. We finally got out of there an onto a plane headed back to the states, and I couldn't help but to think of all those men that died under my command. I couldn't imagine all of those families that will surfer from this war; an yet the war hasn't ended. I shall go back to the states an maybe find me a girl in New York, and settle down with a family. This is the story of my platoons' war and the fallen heroes in the mission to Molar Hill.....
