Define Yourself. Started by: Rossi on Jan 23, '16 21:49

Recruitment is rife at the moment, our inboxes are bustling with inquiries as to how to join us in the Golden State. Right now, you've just got to be better then the other guys. This got me thinking though, and I'd like to share some of my observations.

This is for all of those relatively new to our streets. To the young, the naive, the uncertain and the confused. You've been around for some time, but still not achieved what you thought you would. You're still trying to figure out how to be what you want to be, you're new and innocent and what goes on behind closed doors is completely unknown to you.

In a way, I envy you, when people don't know your family line it's easy to live your life with a bit of authenticity and really build a persona.

So you step off the boat, find a job board, make a bit of money. What comes next? Permanent work. You'll be approached and offered work, work that once you start, it won't be easy to move away from.

This is the point where you need to get smart. You need to be noticed, but not for the wrong reasons. You need to start switching on.

Unless you do, you'll be designated as money making fodder. That is the honest to god reality of it. See, you'll be a button man or you'll be a shmuck. If you want to survive, shooting things is the most vital skill in this world, learn how to aim and start pressing the button on other shmucks. Otherwise, your role during a war will be to get shot and void the protection on a proper target.

The experienced bloodlines of the many women and men of our world can only do so much. They can only put you on the path to being more than just a cash cow that'll be used as a beef shield when the pat hits the fan. Through recruitment they can open the door to opportunity, you've got to walk through it. There are those who won't be as noble, however. You could be taken in simply to make up the numbers. Maybe you'll fall asleep and a week later, you find your bed has moved to the unlucky end of a training range. Bang.

The men and women that make up my previous lines used to recruit people for the wrong reasons, too. That is until they realised that there is so much more potential for our world and our future by investing time and effort into development. Their time in New York saw only new faces populating the city, so they devoted their efforts to training them and preparing them, for this world.

You've got to take that step though, you've got to decide who you are, in this life and then when it comes, the next. Live that person, breath that person. Be someone, stop making stupid mistakes. You don't have to be active 24/7, but when you are, be the best you could be. Be the guy you'd want working for you. Want some easy tips? Sure.

Stop letting your anger ruin what you could be.

Don't let people know who your friends are. The bigger your web the greater chance some fucker will stick their fist through it.

Speak when spoken to and really think before you open your mouth. The less you give away about your personality the better. The more people know about you, the weaker it makes you.

Pissed as a fart? Great, but keep it behind closed doors.

Don't ask questions, you'll be told what you need to know.

Approach people in the right way, with respect and consideration.

Trust only those who have put trust in you. They are the ones worth dying for.

I'm coming out here to be honest to you all, to give you that head start before you waste a few weeks and decide this way of life isn't for you. It is, it could very well be the highlight of your year, but you need to get to that point where you've become wise, wise as to the hows, the who's, the whys and the whats.

Just define yourself, what you want and what you need to do to get it.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $50,000 Tip

dontbemad will refrain from sharing the first thoughts that came to her mind hours ago when she was graced with this article  All in the name of respect. She answers the one crucial question. "Gangsters R Us" Sir."

I represent and fully support Gangsters R Us. We live by the same code of honor as the "Them" are suppose too live by. However, we walk the talk.

Report Post Tip

All you do is talk.

And there is no "we," it's just you. You poor, lonely soul.

Report Post Tip

Sad for you washed up one you cannot read my MM, see my gifts received, nor know me. Spare "Us" of your dribble and be gone.

Report Post Tip

Oh I'm sure they number in the hundreds, and they will surely show themselves here in support, will they not?

Go sit in the corner with your tinfoil hat on and spare us your conspiracy theories about "them" you daft human.

It's just a bunch of CLs who befriended each other by actually taking part in this life of ours, instead of complaining about it incessantly like you choose to do. There is currently no group that holds power that has some secret agenda to only auth those within their group to lead, and treat all others like dogshit. If you believe that you need to give your head a shake, or preferably, stick it in an oven.

Alas I know I am not being very productive by responding to you at all, in fact I'm probably making myself look bad. I did, in fact, mispronounce llama for goodness sake. However, stupidity has always irked me.

I apologize Rossi, for not speaking at all about what you have prepared here.

I applaud what you are trying to do here, by giving tips to those fresh off the boat, with a short or possible no line to draw experience from.

Report Post Tip

I'll have you know, GreatWhiteNorth, that I applaud Gangsters R Us. They do indeed number in the hundreds. They're so deep underground that you'd need to dig through to China to find them. But oh, I didn't realize this hat was meant for dontbemad. My apologies, kind sir.

Trollnado whirled the tinfoil hat off of his head and it conveniently landed on dontbemad. The Trollnado had made his presence known once again.

Report Post Tip

Us and Them do not  total a hundred, so of course silly there is not a hundred. Did you actually read what Rossi wrote?  I dare you to say you read it all.

Report Post Tip

Trollnado, they can easily number in the hundreds if the retired and or vacation return.
