Is there a difference between suicide and retiring?

Any comments appreciated.

Technically they are the same,if you want to leave this world with that character you suicide or retire (if you are made man and above, i think).But all i know in retiring is that you must be a high ranked player.

So finally the result is the same , just a different way to say it :)

Yes, the meaning is different but the outcome is the same.
