Sure Battista represented a vergence in the force, but surely this couldn't be the man the ancient prophecies refered to, the one who would bring Balance to New Orleans. Panda concentrates hard like Master Kenobi taught him, and although he concentrates enough to have a small accident escape, he senses nothing. Indeed this man was powerful as the Master had predicted. Brushing aside any doubts, Panda joins the others in congratulating Battista on his new position of authority.
