Tom Hagen was still awake, sitting in a small apartment, as his boss
ordered him to do. Impatiently, he looked at his watch. The next
moment, the phone rang. Tom quickly picked it up. "Hi sir, nothing happened yet". While he said that, he looked out the window. "No sir, no one's there. .. Ok sir, I'll do that".
Tom sighed, and looked at the person next to him; a young girl, deeply
asleep, so it seemed. Her name, or better said her nickname, was
Mindless. Her name was actually Lilly - not important -. But guess
what? It's me. And guess again? We're engaged.

We met while
traveling to the USA. It turned out we both had to attend our parent's
funeral, and even better, our parents knew eachother. That's how it
happened we became good friends, and eventually decided to join the
same family.

  -   In the end I always knew he was special to me. I just didn't realize in which way, before that one day..that one saturday.
He
just told me he arranged that saturday with our closest friends. Now I
think about it, it was too much to be a coincidence.  -
Allright, forgive me, I was mumbling again..I tend to mumble a lot this times.. I'll tell you the story.

We
were given a day of and Tom, Amelia and me would meet in Las Vegas
downtown to go out. At 9 he picked me up with an actual horse-drawn
carriage. "Amelia is very sorry, but she's got some business to do" he said. "She'll meet us at approximately midnight at Navona Hotel". He took my hand and we got in the carriage. "Don't pull that face silly, the theatre is waiting for us".
During the play all I saw was his hand holding mine, all I heard was
him breathing, all I felt was my heartbeat. If you asked me what the
play was about, I couldn't have answered.
Outside, the coachman was still waiting for us. "Verona Hotel"
Tom said. Luckily, the hotel wasn't that far from the theatre, since it
froze outside. Ten minutes later we arrived, but Amelia wasn't there
yet. "Lilly?". He hesitated. "Can you close your eyes please? I got a surprise for you..".
As I did he took my hand and led me to the stairs up to the roof. Right
there he told me to open my eyes. I couldn't believe what I saw;
apparently the power was cut in all of Las Vegas. Tom lit a candle and
gave it to me. Then, he got down on his knee..

- My heart skipt a beat - "Dear Lilly", he started. "I asked for the city to go dark for you are the only light that guides my heart and you are all I wish to see tonight...." He reached for the ring in his pockets. "Lilly, will you marry me? ..Please?".

I was absolutely flabbergasted, perplexed and speechless. But you know my answer..it was a yes.

Vegas_Cassanova walks over to Mindless and gives her a hug then he looks at the man to be! 

"You didnt tell me you were going to propose? I mean im so happy for you brother!"

"Your going to make a wonderful wife, And God willing a Beautiful mother!"

The whole day I had been nervous, because it was the day that I would propose to my one love. Lilly, a.k.a Mindless. We had become close over the time we had spent together after meeting on our travel to the US to attend our parents funerals. They had also been close. Now we had become closer than even them. But to propose to somebody you care so much about you have to make it just perfect and I did that. I pulled a few strings and as you can see I made it the best damn proposal ever. I know that she has won my heart and nobody can take that prize from her, just like nobody can take her from me. I hope to be married soon enough, but that day can't come soon enough for me. But for now I am engaged to the one I love, Mindless. Now and forever she will have my heart.

Amelia rushes around the corner then stops dead in front of a few people. She hears cheers and congratulations. Tom Hagen had approached her earlier on that day and asked her to take Mindless off somewhere for that morning so he could prepare.

Amelia kept Mindless busy for most of the morning trying her best not to spill the secret. Or give away any clues till her phone rung. It was Tom.

"Hey Amelia, I'm ready. Can you tell Mindless you will meet her and me later on but not show?"
"Sure, it's your special day! Leave it to me"

Amelia takes Mindless home and tells her she will catch up with her later after she'd gone about her business.

After waiting a few seconds for a few people to finish congratulating the couple, Amelia squeezes her way through the small crowd and shakes Tom's hand. Looks to Mindless and hugs her so tight she can't breathe.

"Congratulations my love! I am so excited for you. Can't wait for celebrations later. Ohh and so much planning to do for the big day."
"Tom, congrats mate. I'm happy it all went to plan for you. You make sure you treat her right mind."

Amelia laughs and pats Tom's back

Lada stares in amazement at Tom_Hagen. One of her close friends. Standing beside Vegas_Cassanova she grins.

Tom! How could you not tell us you were going to propose?

Lada turns to Mindless.

Hi, I'm Lada. Nice to meet you.

Hacker phones Tom at the hotel

"Hi Tom. congratulations. You sure kept that quiet. I just heard on the grapevine about you. Wishing you all the best & will catch up with you when I'm in town"

Haz looks at Tom and Lilly standing together, looking so damn happy, they looked back at me, i sprinted over to them both and gave them a huge hug.

" you two look beautiful together, like your already married, I so want front row seats at the wedding."

They both look back at me in approval, I felt so happy for them.

Walks to his good friend Tom and shakes his hand.

"You're a lucky man Tom, a lucky man, but she may want to rethink things" I say.

"Just kidding!" I say. 

"Drinks on me at the bar to celebrate this couple's engagement!. Congrats to them both! Hope it's a happy marriage!"

Vegas looks over to his friend Lada

"Sister would you mind if i escorted you to this funeral when time comes?"

Lada chuckles.

I'm fairly certain you mean wedding. Yes you may.

Calls Mindless two days after Chris heard the announcement Tom and Mindless getting married.

Um...Hey Mindless....It's Chris. Um I want to say that I'm very happy for you. Sorry I got mad a day or two ago. Been drinking that liquor, and made me forgot what day it was. I was stupid and wrong and I'm going to Tom's house after this call. But I just want to know if I could be a part of the wedding? Or even just be a part of it. So...What you say?

The phone was silent for awhile.

Sepultura wakes up and do his usual morning habits, eat breakfast and treat his mustache. FOr some odd reason, today he decides to open his mailbox. There were a huge ammount of mail...

Water, gas, electricity... God damn, I was sure I had paid september already. That explain the lack of light in my place. More, gas, water, enagement party... !!! I don't remeber subscribing for this one!

He opens the letter addressed to him by his old friend Tom Hagen. It seemed he would finally marry that girl he was introduced to some time ago.

Sorry bills, the odds are against you. My money is needed for an huge engagement present.
