Tony Capazzo Jr. was cruising down the streets with his associate Paulie. He had recently purchased a brand new Pierce Silver-Arrow along with a brand new wardrobe including some fine suits. It had been a pretty busy week as well. He was finalizing everything for his big project in Old City, Philadelphia and had been out of town most of the week. As Tony and Paulie got closer to Mano di Morte headquarters Tony was excited to show everyone his new car. He had worked long and hard to get to where he was and was finally starting to reap all the rewards and benefits of said hard work.

“You know Paulie, I never thought in a million years I would be driving something like this.”

“You deserve it Tony, you really do.”

Tony nodded and smiled.

“Everything should be done in a few days and we can open up the doors. I want some flyers made to spread across town. Anyone who is anyone will be there, I want this to be big. The word has to get out and we need to kick up some buzz, you hear me?”

“I hear you boss, don’t worry. I will take care of everything and make sure it’s a special night indeed.”

“Absolutely and I want all of Philly’s finest there too. I want to roll out the red carpet for them. It’s the least I can do for everything they’ve done for me you know?”

Paulie nodded.

“Paulie when we get back I want you to take the car and park it and wait for me. I have to discuss some important things back at headquarters, got it?”

Once again Paulie nodded.

“Good, we shou-……”

Tony stopped mid sentence and began to look around. Everything was deserted, something looked off, Philadelphia wasn’t the normal busy area as Tony last saw it a few days ago. This had a very weird feeling to it.

“Paulie, hold on…what the fuck is going on here?”

Tony continued to drive slowly making his way toward headquarters, only a few blocks away, this atmosphere looked familiar from the pages of his father’s diary. Tony hoped that it wasn’t what he thought it was.

“This place looks like a ghost town. Something went down here man.”

Paulie looked around nervously and then spotted something, he pointed to it and showed Tony.

“Look boss!”

It was bullet holes all over some Philly businesses and residential homes. Tony took in a gulp and didn’t like the way this was going. He quickly sped up and got to headquarters. When he got there he couldn’t believe his eyes.

“WHAT…THE…FUCK.”

Tony quickly got out of the car and surveyed the area. It was not a pretty site. Tony walked through the area and then realized, if not for anything but protection, he took out his pistol. He nodded for Paulie to do the same and Paulie quickly obliged. They continued to walk closer to the headquarters main entrance door. Paulie had never been this close to the building so he was a bit nervous and excited at the same time. Then Tony saw it all.

It was something his eyes had never seen. It was painful to see and too much to bare. Tony began to get emotional dropping on one knee and letting out some tears.

“Paulie, what the fuck happened here?”

“T-t-tony I don’t know man.”

Tony walked around wiping his tears and continuing to check out the area. There was no one in sight...alive that is. It was then Tony realized the realism of this life he had signed up for and chose. The same life that brought his father to his last breath. The same life that saw people he cared for, now gone…just like that. It was a harsh reality indeed and Tony for the first time in weeks...was at a loss for words.

“What now Paulie, what now???”

Paulie unfortunately had no response. There was nothing that could be said or done. Everything was over with. Paulie just stayed quiet as the two continued to walk full circle around the building. They finally made their way back to the main entrance. Tony took one more look behind him again as if hoping someone would show their face…but there was…no one. TonyCapazzoJr. dropped his head in disbelief and headed out the door.

“I just can’t believe it.”

Paulie pat Tony on his back as they headed back to the car. Paulie did his best to comfort him but it was a lot for Tony to take in.

“Boss, we just have to figure out where to go from here.”

Tony with anger in his heart and mind...raised his gun.

“We are going to fuckin find out who did this and pay them a visit, you hear me Paulie, this is NOT over!”

Paulie nodded. He knew at the drop of a hat he was ready to fight and die for Tony. Tony had given him so much and the least he could do was fight by his side.

“Paulie make some calls, let’s do what we can…this isn’t over by a long shot. We will get our revenge…I will scour the god damn streets day and night if I have to, I need to know who was behind this…I’ll start a fuckin w-“

Just then a man appeared, it was like he came from thin air but he’d been there all along listening to Tony's rant. The man quickly and sharply looked at Tony then spoke sternly.

“You will do no such fuckin thing T.”

Tony quickly rose his gun and as the man became more visible Tony realized he knew this person. He had heard a lot about this person and as history told it, this man’s father and his very own father use to know each other well…all too well. The man came closer to Tony. Tony put his gun away and tucked it into the back of his suit pants.

“Come with me Tony.” The man said.

Without hesitation Tony nodded and walked with the man. Paulie looked on with caution. Tony turned around and shouted to him.

“Paulie take my car back home, I will catch up with you later.”

Paulie nodded and quickly ran to the car. He stayed and waited to see if Tony was going to make a move on this mysterious man however, no move was made. Tony knew who this man was and if history would repeat itself he definitely wanted to hear what this man had to say. He waited for the man to speak but nothing. They headed over to the man’s car and still no words were spoken. Tony finally broke the silence.

“Excuse me sir, but…where are we going?”

The man looked at Tony and then looked at his car as if to say ‘just get in’ after a brief moment the man finally answered.

“Detroit…Black Bottom.”

Tony quickly stopped dead in his tracks…that was his father’s old stomping grounds.
