Revolucion De Cuba Started by: Fidel_Castro on Feb 10, '16 12:54

Fidel was settling in nicely to his new life in Detroit. His acquaintances in the Java Cartel were warm, friendly and always willing to make him feel welcome. However, walking around the streets of Black Bottom, he could not shake the feeling that there was something missing. He missed his old life in Cuba, and the home comforts it brought. He missed the cigars wafting through the summer air, and the taste of rum. Sadly, there was nowhere in Detroit offering anything of the sort.

Later that day, while sitting in Buffy's Java Shack enjoying a double espresso, he looked across the road and noticed an empty shop unit with a 'For Rent' sign in the window. The ideas started racing through Fidel's mind. "If I can't find a few home comforts, why don't I bring them here myself?" Walking over to the empty unit, Fidel phoned the number on the sign. An hour later, the owner arrived to show him round.

"Sure, it's a little run-down, but nothing a little TLC can't fix..."

There and then, Fidel handed the man a suitcase full of cash, telling him to keep it on the quiet. The man handed him the keys, and that was that. It was time to start sprucing the place up.

Over the next week or so, Fidel set about gutting and refurbishing the shop unit he acquired. No half measures, he had enlisted the support of a team of builders to get it in shape. He wanted a nice, clean look. Mahogany bar and tables, with red painted walls: Fidel could not have them any other colour.

Fidel had ordered his stock, and had received word that it would be arriving in the country soon. He set about ensuring that there would be no issues with law enforcement: fortunately, his contact within the FBN had smoothed things over, and two days later his shipment arrived.

With the work finished and the bar stocked up, there was one thing left for Fidel to do. He hammered a menu board up behind the bar. It would be a short menu; he wanted to offer a small number of items done well, rather than a large number done badly.

After a long days Innocenza was walking down the streets of Detroit when she notices a new business in town. As she walks closer she looks through the window. Seems it was a bar. She definitely could use a drink so she stepped inside the place.
She walks towards the mahogany bar and takes place at one of the barstools. Looking over the place she smiles. She really likes the red painted walls. She adresses her attention to the man behind the bar after she checked out the menu board.

"Hi there, Can I have a Mojito please, and some cuban tapas alongside?"

As she awaits Fidel_Castro's reply she searches her bag for cigarettes.

Having to go to Detroit for business seemed like a dull endeavor at the time. As i'm from sunny Los Angeles, I never could stand the cold.
Detroit has been kind to me today though! I left my coat at the hotel today since it's fairly warm for the time of year.
As I'm checking out the local shops & bars I pass by, my eye catches a familiar face! Is that Innocenza sitting at the bar?!

I look up at the sign above the door. It reads "Revolution De Cuba"
I quietly find my way to the Bar, and as I take the empty stool next to Innocenza, I tap her on her shoulder.

"Hey girl! Fancy seeing you here! I was just in the neighborhood passing by when i saw your pretty face through the glass!"

I give her one of my cigarettes and hold up the lighter...

"Can I have a Rum please? you know what...make it a double!!"

As Innocenza hears a familiar voice and looks at her right she notices a familiar face. She smiles as she turns into his direction.
Hey you! How have you been doin? What brings you to our fine Detroit?

Before SB could answer he get's gunned down right in front of her. Innocenza stands up and rushes away, off to her HQ to figure out what is going on.

It had been ages since Salvatore had gotten his hands on a cigar with any substance to it. These cheap counterfeit knockoffs just weren't doing it for him anymore. So he was completely delighted at the thought of a genuine Cuban cigar when he entered La Revolucion de Cuba. Greeted with a small but adequate menu which he abandoned for the glow of the cigar case on the bar, Sal was nearly drooling when he waved for the barkeeper's attention.

"Sir! I'll take one of each of your cigars. And to round off the occasion, a mojito as well."

Salvatore waited to be served before sequestering himself in a corner table to enjoy the smoke and the evening...
