To say you were not disrespectful or offensive in your opinion is irrelevant - Obviously, someone took offense to it, however trivial or serious it may be. |

I think the point, which is being continually missed by subsequent posters, was that they may have taken offense to something that isn't even present. This doesn't render the fact it was not disrespectful or offensive in Grin's opinion wrong. We can all be guilty of misinterpreting things from time to time, as is the case here. This is not an insult to the family or the child; this was simply a general concern of a rule-abiding player recognizing a thread located in the inappropriate location. I think the fact that some of you are quick enough to respond to this in order to shoot Grin down, when you haven't even realized that the baby in question doesn't belong to Morgan at all yet offer her congratulations, rather telling about your intentions. But I suppose it would be too much, for a select few, to actually read threads and understand them before you type a response. All in all, though, congratulations to the parents! -Battista |

Think its time to crush the bashing that's been going on. Grin said this didnt belong in OOC (rightfully so), and Marco moved it to the outside forum. |

To GiovanniBovine/Scipita/Grin/whoever else mentioned this being the OOC forum - Your wrong. The OOC is supposed to be Mafia, but just out of character, like saying 'lol, rofl, lmfao, omg etc. etc. And you would all be completely right about her not having to come announce this..However,we're in the outside forum...which is anything you want to talk about non-game related...You see people talking about Michael Jackson, and what your favorite game is etc....This isn't mafia out of character, yet you aren't all correcting them. Congrats to the parents!! |

Bravo everyone. I've seen a lot of stupid discussions, debates, and frivolous arguments in my many years of playing Mafia... And I'm wondering if this one takes the cake. Do you all seriously have enough time in your lives to debate the relevance of an OOC thread that was essentially one father/mother parading their newborn around? Back in the old days we just assumed the street cleaners would "get their shit together" and move it to where they felt appropriate. There was no need for a fucking debate... Yet today, we have to bicker in a desperate attempt to win the favor of the people who should be making these appropriate decisions. I don't want to put down two people who I respect and have supported since they began this undertaking... but why is this sort of thing even allowed anymore? The thread should have been moved to OUTSIDE forum and that would be the end of the story. So why do people like Grin feel that it is necessary to do the admins jobs for them, if there were not a void to fill there? Grin, you always have something profound to say; that is in your opinion of course. I'm not discussing here whether I agree with your views or opinion on this matter, but to say the least - your execution was tactless. I'm also not accusing you of being a horrible person or judging you on what hospitals you visit and who's life you cheer up this Christmas season... but I am asking you to leave this sort of shit for an IRC discussion or somewhere else more appropriate. I also don't come onto MR for the short time I have anymore, just so that I can read this sort of malicious garbage. Grin, if you have a problem with the fact that the administration is not doing what they promise and not doing their part to enforce the rules - get the testicular fortitude to take it up with them. God knows that I have done so for various reasons in the past and I stand by my own opinions. But again, I don't allow those opinions to tear away at the very fabric of good "natured"gameplay. |

Correct, and it was. Then it was moved back here by someone else and, rather predictably, the debate has started up again needlessly. It is a silly debate, but the fact of the matter is, it should be in Outside. Then again, so should much of the crap that litters OOC these days. The tidy up has to start somewhere though, the forum's a mess. |

EzioMedici, I was done with this thread, which is why I've tolerated people be consistently wrong and/or insulting since I last spoke, but I can't believe you actually just posted that.

Is it only a few of us who actually see that Grin is right. Morgan should have known better to have posted this thread in the Outside forum not the OOC forum. I myself am tired of seeing threads that have no place here in the OOC. Not only that but I am tired of seeing the constant crap that is being posted in the Streets. You can see why the admins have left this thread in the OOC, because it has started a discussion clearer OOC based. You may ask yourself why are people getting the wrong idea when posting threads and where to place them. I for one blame the posting requirements some families have set for people to receive promotions. Now we are getting all this shit posted just so people can get their original thread or posts count up. OOC is for game related topics which can be discussed out of character. The Streets should be completely In Character and I always use to look at the streets for important announcements or new discussion being brought up but now I tend to avert my eyes from it cause majority of what I'm seeing is shit. I see blame being made on the admins for incidents such as this, I personal believe they hold no blame. The blame goes to leaders of the game, they should be setting an example of what posts should look like and where they should be posted. Also Crew leaders should be teaching their members, especially the noobs, how people should post threads and what is an appropriate thread for which forum. We should not be calling out admins to move threads cause situations like threads being in the wrong forum shouldn't happen. Of course it will happen sometimes but if we continues to show those with lesser understanding on how to post threads properly then incidents such as this should not happen or would happen less, though it was a Crew leader herself to make this mistake, I'm glad she made it for she started a discussion on a topic that needed attention to. Hopefully us the players can learn to fix situations like this ourselves to stop future incidents, without relying on the admins all the time, I personally like a game that has minimum involvement from the admins. |

For those who might not understand, as I was writing my response this thread got moved to the Outside forum. I was still under the impression it was in the OOC. Hope that lacks confusion after reading my response |

Ok, the incredible forum bouncing thread is here to stay... Whatever the original topic was it has since evolved into a game related debate so it will remain in the OOC forum. |

To be honest, what rubbed me the wrong way from Grin's first post "can we not have any more pointless bullshit OOC threads about this sort of nonsense?" I don't think it's pointless, I don't think it;s bullshit and I certainly don't think it's nonsense. So that right there seems like an excess of foul language that, in my opinion, was a gratuitous jab at the original poster. That being said, I obviously agree that we don't need three threads about the same topic, we don't need it in OOC and I'm still wondering how it was that Morgan was so overwhelmed by emotion that she decided to share pictures about a kid that is not even her own family member. So, like somebody already implied, we let this escalate unnecessarily. Hades, I do not believe that posting requirements are to blame for idiotic threads. Idiots and/or lack of tutelage are. First of all, if there were no requirements, you would have people with two posts and no threads getting their button and you would have people complaining about mute being promoted. What needs to be done is have leaders pass down standards that must be met. I always have my new members show me their plans for their original thread to avoid them embarrassing themselves and I'm still in awe that leaders keep letting their members post those dumb "How many times...?" threads. I would smack their face into next week if one of my members did that. |
