Crazy Nine, being hungry after a very busy morning, decides to take a break from his bussinesses and have some lunch. As he happens to be in the city of Chicago at the moment, he asks his driver to take him to the business district to find a good restaurant in town.

He had heard about Chicago having a great business district. At the time "Adrian's Italian Bar and Grill" had been a sensation until the owner was killed at the beginning of the huge war of June. He felt sad nobody picked up that torch and the place had to be shut down.

When the driver pulls over, Crazy Nine gets out of the car and enters the building. He waits for a few seconds scouting the place deciding if it's to his liking and asks to be seated.

Once comfortably set, he orders his lunch.

Report Post Tip

Rampaging Fox is on the phone to one of his associates, they are telling about his old friend Crazy Nine being in the city, over in the business district searching for a restaurant to suit his educated palette.

"You know I have been waiting for Crazy Nine to come visit me in the Windy City, I am going to head over to there now."

Realising he is driving Dwight's limo he thought if it would be wise to drive it to go and see Crazy Nine all the way across town.

After reasoning with himself he has come to the assumption that it is his job to drive that limo around, keep it in pristine shape and the tank full until Dwight needs him, since he nor the limo is needed he heads down to the business owned by Chaos Spike, Chicago's Exquisite Pub. Hoping he will catch up to Crazy Nine.

Fox walks in and spies out Crazy Nine seated in a booth at the back of restaurant, and Fox heads directly towards him to only be cut off by two burly bodyguards and one slim fellow who seems to work with them but doesn't have the build to match.

Crazy Nine notices his protection staff getting restless at the sight of a young man approaching his table. They immediately spring into action cutting him off before he gets too close to his boss. Crazy Nine tries to see the face of the young man while he starts trying to wrestle his way through and starts telling them that he in fact is an acquaintance of Mr. Nine. As soon as he sees the young man, he immediately recognizes him and orders his bodyguards to stand down.

He stands up to stretch his hand and apologizes for the inconvenience, specially being that they were, after all, in Mr. Fox's territory.

Report Post Tip

After being manhandled by the three bodyguards especially the slim one, Fox guessing he has something to prove to the rest, slightly regretted not coming with Jack and Bob his two favourite bodyguards. It was just that if Dwight called on him there wouldn't be enough space for all of them.

"Crazy, thanks for saving me there, that slim one is quite a strong one."

Fox takes a seat in the booth with Crazy Nine, while keeping an eye on the bodyguards.

"So Crazy, what brings you out to the Windy City? I know seeing me can't be the whole reason behind you being here cause you know I'm Dwight's new personal chauffeur so I am hard to get hold of."

Report Post Tip

Crazy Nine chuckles at his friend's joke.

I am actually just running around making sure a few people I have around here on specific tasks are doing their job well. It's amazing how productivity can increase as soon as they find out the boss could pop in unannounced every now and then.

So how are things over here. Do you miss being in NY or do you already feel at home here in Chicago?

Report Post Tip

"I will always miss NY, my father, his father and my great grandfather all made their bones in NY. So NY was of course my choice to be made in, but since I moved out to Chicago I can't lie I really enjoy it, we got Dwight, Noah and the biggest burger joint coming to Chicago all thanks to the Godfather, good times."

Fox beams a smile over at Crazy.

"On another note speaking of those people in your association, I see how over the last few weeks your member intake has shot up. I guess word is spreading about the Imperial Hawks boosting your numbers. Congrats man."

Report Post Tip

Crazy Nine chuckles.
Yeah, I knew it would happen eventually. I'm glad that my crew is getting bigger. It was a slow process. My sponsors seem to be very selective, or maybe not too zealous in trying to get people to teach to. A few times I realized I had to get out there myself if I wanted to meet new people as nobody was bringing new blood into the HQ for days at a time sometimes.

Report Post Tip

"Sometimes it's good that you go out and do the recruiting yourself show the sponsors what you expect; lead by example. And at least that way you sponsors know what kind of mafioso to be recruiting."

"By picking the right associates, you will be able to mentor them and have them not drive you crazy with stupid questions."

Report Post Tip

Well, yes, the downside to doing so much recruiting is that you are the most visible face for too many people in your crew at the same time, unfortunately. It's hard to mentor so many people at the same time.

But ultimately, you are right. I hope they get motivated to try to pick up somebody to share their knowledge with.

Report Post Tip

"Yes, I can see what you mean when there is just one person trying to mentor a bunch of young and up-coming mafioso it becomes hard and eventually you may spread yourself too thin. So I do hope that your sponsors start to follow your example, because everyone at some point needs a mentor."

"I remember reading my great grandfather's journals, he mentioned the likes of Acute, KingOfOnePercent and PrinceOfOnePercent. They taught him a lot, it is actually down to them why my bloodline is still on these shores. Even my father and me have had great mentors; the likes of The_Codfather and Dwight_Stifler, respectively. I am pretty sure your lineage has had some mentors that still have an impact on you to today."

Report Post Tip

Oh, boy. Of course! My uncle made his bones in Chicago where he learned a whole lot about the basics of this line of business. Unfortunately all those mentors' lives were cut short and not long after, his own life was cut short. But still, the amount of knowledge he was able to pass on to me when I was a kid laid the best foundation for me to come to a place like New York and with another team of mentors be able to achieve even beyond my wildest dreams.

I'm happy to say that I'm living the dream, man.

Crazy nine raises his glass proposing a toast.

Report Post Tip

Fox chuckles to himself thinking of his mentors and the mentors that he has read about in his great grandfather's journals.

"I reckon all those people saw something great in us, take for example my mentors I must have asked them tons of questions, some questions possibly twice, some questions looking back now probably stupid as hell. But they always answered them. Now look at me now, trusted to take in my own associates and provide them with the same level of guidance that I recieved."

Report Post Tip

I heard a great saying once: "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people who don't ask any questions".

Sounds great, huh? Unfortunately that guys must not have met some of the tards we bump into daily, right?

I realize, as a leader, that it all depends on the kind of questions. Stupid questions can bore me in 10 seconds. Smart and deep questions can keep me entertained for hours.

Report Post Tip

"That is a real good quote, but I guess you're right there are a lot of little arrogant sods running around the streets."

Fox thinks of some of the low-life thugs he has come across in the streets, that fit the description of those unsavoury characters to a t.

"I, however, haven't really come across any dumb and ignorant individuals, people who have said narrow-minded things yes without a doubt. But majority of the people who may come across arrogant, seem to be the ones of with a lot of knowledge. I especially noticed this when I took time to read through some old newspaper clippings from yesteryear"

Fox takes a minute to thinks about how he conducts himself.

"I guess I might fall into, at least I hope, I fall into the smart and deep questions category.

"For some reason, I haven't really been bothered by stupid questions from associates, cause I know I was asking the same questions when I first joined."

Report Post Tip

Crazy Nine smiles at the brief moment of self awareness of his friend.
You obviously fall in that category. If you made stupid questions, you wouldn't have the brain to make it as far as you have.

Another great saying that comes to mind: One can tell more about the intelligence of a man by his questions than by his answers.

Report Post Tip

Fox smirks at the compliment he received from one of the New York Dons.

"I guess you're right"

Report Post Tip

Crazy Nine snorts and smirks while he replies.
Of course I'm right!!

Report Post Tip

Rampaging Fox lets out a chuckle at that show of pure confidence.

"The confidence you just exhibited, has led me to be sure you're right. People that are wrong aren't always that confident"

Report Post Tip

Crazy Nine raises an eyebrow while thinking about what he just heard. Not that he didn't like having his confidence complimented. But something just didn't sound right to him about what his friend had just said.

I think, my friend, if you think closely you will find many examples that contradict what you just said. It is true that many ignorant people are very insecure about themselves. However, there are also plenty  arrogant idiots roaming the streets. Just
as as well as insecure smart
people.

Report Post Tip

Rampaging Fox notices the slight raise in Crazy Nine's eye brow, knowing something he said was wrong, he figures he best explain himself.

"Like I explained earlier I don't come across many dumb and arrogant inviduals, now I am certain they're out there but I do all that I can to steer clear of those individuals, it is probably best for both parties involved."
