*The newly-minted Acting Godfather of Los Angeles, TylerDurden, steps out of his headquarters. With the sun shining on this once-dark city, Mr. Durden lights up a cigar, and heads out for a stroll to meet with a Union rep who needs some, uh, persuasion. Along the way, he sees a young child eating an ice cream cone, who drops his ice cream. Being a benevolent man, Tyler walks up to the child and offers up a couple bucks for a new cone. The child screams, and backs away from him.* What's wrong, son? *The child looks up with fearful eyes, and is clearly shaking* "You-you're one of THEM!!!" the child screams. One of them? I think you have me confused. Cthulhu is the alien in these parts. And you don't need to be afraid of him. He's a nice guy once you get to know him, tentacles and all! "No, not an a-a-a-alien. He's-HE'S A CREWLEADER!!!" *Dun dun duuuuuuunnnnnnnnn* *The yell grabs the attention of a crowd of people, who all gasp dramatically. Instantly, they begin giving Mr. Durden dirty looks, and converging on him. Somehow, they manage to get ahold of pitchforks and torches, nobody is quite sure how. Someone procures a stake for poor Tyler to be burned at.* *Luckily, Durden finds a soapbox at his feet just in time. He climbs up, which obviously stops the murderous mob. Because, you know, guy on a soapbox. Never know what he's gonna say." Ladies, gentlemen, small children, assorted prostitutes of Los Angeles, please listen before you set me on fire! I'm not a bad guy! In fact, I would like to think I'm pretty nice myself. The thing is, us crewleaders have gotten a bad rap lately. Everywhere you turn in these streets, someone is complaining to someone else that we aren't doing a good job. We're playing favorites. We're evil, and starting wars for no good reason. We're not giving chances to new people. Our "special" son peed in the pool. Guess what? You've got a real, live crewleader here right now, willing to listen. I know very well now what you DON'T want out of me. The question is, what DO you want? (Side note: Let's keep it realistic, people. "I want free money, and to be RHM because my mom says I deserve it, and to score with your girlfriend, and a pony!" is hardly feasible. I would like our HQ to have an in-ground swimming pool, a farm for growing inactives, and a beer volcano. Doesn't mean it's going to happen.) |

What do I want? It's a little early in your reign granted, but I want you to stand out. I want to say I was alive when Don Durden ran Los Angeles. It's a city of limitless possibilities, it's a positive mine; yet is almost never fully exploited. I could count on one hand the amount of CL's I can remember who've done interesting things with LA. Become one of those CL's, it'd be nice. |

Brutus, from what you speak, we share a common goal. To the rest of you: Either put up, or shut up. There are people (I won't name names) who do nothing but complain on the streets. This is your chance. Tell me what you would like to see done differently. Otherwise, I will assume that you are fine with the way things are running, just bitter that you aren't the ones running things. That wouldn't be the case, now would it? |

First of all i would like that pony... Mostly though I want to look back at these days and say that i was part of the betterment of LA i want to see the streets flooded with new immigrants looking to join one of the six large crews. I want to have rouges being supported only by their own crazy selves and not one person joins their ranks. I want to see this world ruled by powerful godfathers and the only wars will be for favor of the godfather. Thats the world i want to live in and i think we should start in LA. |

Well my dear sir, I don't think that I can ask anything of you, because I am not in your crew. However my dear boy I do say, I like the idea of your trying to get yourself out there for the masses. After all we wouldn't want our public to savor the excesses of the French revolution now would we. We all know what that unfortunate movement led to. In any sense though old chap, I will Have to state, that whenever there is a party that is being slighted, as I am sure you already know or will find out soon that there always is one in the world we live in, there will be someone upset with the way things are going in this life that we choose to live in such a dreadfully wonderful fashion. |

What do I want? Humm, a good safe place to make money and better my businesses, A friendly family willing to support and protect me... And a chance to grow into something more then I am. But that pony and the money sound nice as well... |

I think for me, what I'd like to see in a Family leader does by no means reflect what others feel. I do believe my own opinion to be in the minority. But what I would like to see is some individualism, some innovation. Put your own stamp on this life and do something memorable. And by memorable, I don't mean warring everyone who crosses your path, I mean improvement. Originality. On a side note: if I was in your position, I certainly wouldn't have come out to the streets to talk about this. I would have already had an idea before I stepped into the bold suit and would further my ideas by communicating with my higher echelon and my Family. Asking outsiders how you should run your family or behave, in my opinion looks weak. No disrespect meant on my part however Sir. It's simply my opinion. |

Despite the fact that I DONT CARE about Cathy or anything that she has to say... ...She is right. I would never want to take on the mantle of leadership unless I had something new to add to this world. Its just plain too boring otherwise given our special circumstances in MRLand. Be innovative. Confuse the Fed, bring a new type of front to your crime family, think of ways to make more cash at the expense of the other monsters, yet one that will WORK and keep you alive and kickin. Think of ways to keep your family and crew excited about what you have planned for them? you know...man cannot live on wack/petty/jb alone. |

Cathy, I respect your opinion immensely. And I agree with it. Just because the general public says to do something, doesn't mean it's right. Like any suggestion, suggestions from here are taken with a grain of salt, and in the end I have to make my own decisions. That being said, I am not so arrogant as to assume that I am the all-knowing master of the world. If someone comes up with a great idea that I wish I had thought of first, I can take action on that. In the long run, I'm just trying to get a dialogue going. And give the whiners a chance to put up or shut up. |

The lack of responses here is somewhat astounding to me, my family have been absent from this life for quite some time, but I've spent hours and hours reading up on recent history and there seems to be no end of critics out there, I can't help but wonder where they've all gone. I have but one wish for you, Mr Durden. I wish that your first aim is to obtain, and mantain, the respect of your fellow mafiosi. I'm not talking about the faux civility we have substituted for respect of late, but the honest-to-God respect of the people out here in the streets, both within and without your family. If you can achieve that, you'll go down as one of the greats, no matter what else befalls you. |
