*It was a nice day. There were many people in the city. Today you couldnt even feel the wind. I know no wind in this city. Its a miracle. Today Roberts started his day early. Went to the shop, did some jobs for the family. now he was sitting in a park and having a smoke. He saw a lot of people pass by. Some with their loved ones, others with their pets. Many kids running around having fun, not caring about anything in this world. Roberts was zoned out and tried to enjoy this day and keep himself in his toughts. Everything was going better. Detroit is rebuilding it self slowly, after the war. Close friends have died, so Roberts and many others can have a brighter future. Atleast for some time.* |

Taking a nice walk in the park, since the weather seems fair. As I stroll down the path I see this man sitting on the park bench, alone with his thoughts having a smoke to himself, zoned out. I thought to myself "I wonder if he's alright." I then begin to walk over to him with an unlit smoke in my hand, I then begin to sit next to him. "Got a light?" I questioned. "You look so lonely here sitting by yourself, Penny for your thoughts?" As I sit there i cross my legs, lean one arm on the bench and lean towards him waiting for a reply. |

*Thinking about all the choices he has made, all the friends he spoke with had a beer with are now lying in a cemetery. Mabey now they are feeling more free, when they were here. constant stress of everything that was happening in this busy city. His toughts suddenly got interupted by someone he looked up* |

With a smile I reach for the mans hand, grabbing it firmly. "Hello Roberts, I'm Jezebel, Nice to meet you." I light my cigarette then pass the lighter back to the kind man. "I would have to say it is nice to have someone to talk to when you have so much burden on your mind, seeing the children running carefree with no worry makes everything seem likes its going to be alright." I then begin to lean back against the bench, thinking of the friends that I lost as well. |

A bright future may be ahead for those who move with the times. Old age is a privilege denied to many, especially in the presence of secret evils and misguided protectors. Our bright future rests in our own hands, as we all carry the responsibility to build a better world, whether Gangster or Godfather. Let us hope we can handle this better than the last time around and make decisions from a place of wisdom and patience. |

While sitting there next to Roberts, I look at him with his hands in his pockets. "My day has been very eventful, collect money here, so and so job there. how about yourself?" All of a sudden I hear another person behind me mumbling about "hoping we can handle it better next time" I quickly turn around to see what this mysterious person has to say, so I listen in quietly taking a puff from my cigarette. |

- Oh the same thing. Collect money from people that take to long to pay back. |

"Just seems like every day is the same, sometimes I find it gets old. But then again someone has to do it." Sitting there next to Roberts, looking at the children playing. Still wondering how nice it would be to go back to the care-free age with no worries. "Well Sir, it seems to be getting dark, would you like to come with me and grab a drink?" She looks over at him waiting for a reply, with a raised eyebrow and a smile on her face. |

JohnDoe pops his head in between Roberts and Jezebel- "If you want a nice place to drink, why don't you try 'The Shebeen'. It's only around the corner. It's under the bridge in the buisness district. Seriously, check it out!". John nods to both and wanders off casually smoking his pipe sending plooms of vanilla flavoured smoke into the air as he goes. |
