Amelia receives a leaflet through her door. "Mafia Idol" Shrugs and thinks nothing of it. After meeting some friends at the local coffee shop they mentioned She should enter. After some long thought She still couldn't decide on which song to sing. Alone later that night she sat thinking some more and started jotting some notes down about what had happened just s few months ago. |

Tom walks forward from the alleyway that he had been watching all the contestants from. He had thought that some were good and some okay, but this......this was a GREAT performance. He steps forward clapping and whistling. "Great performance Amelia, I think that you should definitely be in the top five and go on in thin competition. The others were all good, some great but this in my opinion is the best." Tom smiles and claps for Amelia again and waits to see the others approval. |

After listening to Amelia sing, she writes a few notes down on her notepad. Well Miss Amelia, that was a good audition. It seems at the end you got really into it, feeling it alot. I like the originality and your overall presentation. It was a good audition, and your are without a doubt, in the runnings for the finals. |

Ronnie was nervous. Jesus, he didn't think he had ever been this tense and mortified in his life. Yet he knew; he knew this 'Mafia Idol' was his chance. It was going to be his big break. Gain him so much notoriety among the heads of the Eight Cities. After all, to be a big time mobster one almost always had to have a special party talent to bring to the family dynamic. And singing... oh boy. Singing was his. He couldn't wait. He would be praised and appreciated wherever he went, and no one- NO ONE- would ever forget the name 'Ronald O'Connell' for as long as they lived. Gulping once more in fear, Ronnie took a glance towards his left, where his voice coach stood. Gabriel Mancini; the best in America they called him. (Or at least, the best money could buy.) It was he who had helped Ronnie work on his performance piece for the past few hours. It was he who had drawn the man out of his shell. It was he who had made all of this possible. Clearing his throat, Ronnie laid his hand on Gabriel's shoulder, nodding towards the older man and blushing as he began to mumble all of his heartfelt thanks for the hours spent training him for this very moment. |

"Why sure, my friend. You have a talent that many would die for...or from", Gabriel said unto him. Gabriel was actually laughing on inside. Who in the world would actually support this guy, unless money was involved? A damn good bit of money too. $350,000. Who know how the poor chap got this money, but hell, Gabe wasn't going to complain. Gabriel wraps his arm around our smelly hero and escorted him into the audition room. He could feel that Shy Ronnie was shaking and sweating profusely because the chap was majorly sweating and smelled of urine. As they both look at the judges, Gabe chuckled and pat Ronnie on the back. "Break a leg!" |

Ronnie nodded towards Gabriel. What a nice man he was. Wringing his hands together tightly he let out a loud: "AHA!" of bravery, and walked before the judge's table. It was now or never. Clenching his legs together so that he would not relieve himself mid-song, Ronnie waved shyly at the judge's panel and smiled his charming, lopsided grin. He began to mumble in introduction, giving a bit of his background in singing, as well as how he came to join the life known as This Thing of Ours (he figured this was relevant since it was a 'mobsters' only competition. He noticed the judge's faces were frozen in confusion so he began to tell a joke to break the ice. Laughing after the punchline, his eyes wandered over to Gabriel Mancini's face. Boy, did he look irritated. Shaking his head and snapping to attention, Ronnie began to focus all his energy upon the song. Was he brilliant, or what he brilliant? As he mumbled his way through 'Der Hölle Rache', a German aria written by Mozart, he felt the audience being wowed and hushed into a silent awe. He was brilliant, all right. As he whispered the last lines of the song, he broke into a smile, breathing heavily, and taking a polite bow, walked back over to Mister Mancini, awaiting the judge's comments. |

Gabriel gave a fake smile towards Ronnie and congratulated him as he walked over to the side. He could only think what the judges would say. "Ummm, sorry no" or "Better luck next year" or "For fuck's sake, get the fuck out". He didn't care though, he's got his money already and just has to make sure that Shy Ronnie thinks that he is supporting him. Frank_Costello was the first to speak up and comment on Ronnie's performance. "Overall, Ronnie, you did really well. I'm never heard anyone mumble and stutter through 'Der Hölle Rache' but I absolutely loved it!", Frank proclaimed. "I will have to say that you have my vote into the next round." Next, was ChanelCruize, the founder of "Mafia Idol". She was a very critical judge and did not hesitate to let you know that you suck. She was even in awe of Ronnie's performance. "Ronald, we don't exactly pass everyone here through to the next round, but I felt that your performance was very special." Chanel replied. "And by special, I mean slightly retarded. I have never heard anything like that in my entire life but I just can't get enough of it. You may proceed to the next round, Mister O'Connell." Gabriel could not believe it. Are these judges deaf? Why did they allow him to proceed to the next round when surely they would have been laughing their asses off? All he could do was shrug. Shrug and wonder who was behind this tomfoolery. |

Ronnie let out a wail of surprise when the judges announced he was allowed through to the next round. He tried desperately to stutter his way through an apology, but his throat was tight with emotion and he found that he could not speak (or at least, could not speak more than usual). The red-haired man began to sob as he turned towards Gabriel, his teacher, his friend. Grabbing ahold of him he roughly hugged the older man, weeping into the shoulder of his suit jacket, and mumbling his most sincere appreciation. Letting go of Gabriel, Ronnie turned back to the judges and merely held his hand in the air for a moment, closing his eyes in thought. It looked as if he was thanking God. But he wasn't. He was silently shouting to himself, "I'm number one. I'm number one." |

Ahem, Ronnie tried to stutter his way through a thank-you to the judges. Not an apology. Why would he ever apologize for the brilliance that was he? |

Gabriel smiled and quickly turned that into a frown. What was this feeling? Happiness? Was he experiencing a hint of joy? Fuck no. The only joy he has experienced in the past was stealing and killing, not Captain Gibberish speaking his way into a padded room. As Ronnie busted out into the main lobby with his golden note in hand and silently shouting "I'm number one", Gabriel was quietly shouting "Look at the tits on that broad over there", as he was not paying attention to anything but Tits McGee standing in the corner. Gabriel left Ronnie's side and wandered over there. |
