I just need a chance to get out of character for a bit, and chill out. Through the good bad and the downright ugly, why is it that I keep getting drawn back into MR? I have no earthly idea. Sometimes it makes Me want to throw My laptop across the room, other times it is a great escape, and the one place I need at that moment in time. I've made friends and lost friends here over the past several years, and when I look back, if it wasn't for MR, I wouldn't have met some of the most important, special people I've ever met in My life.

I'm not sure if everyone has the same feeling, but from what I've seen, everyone ends up coming back at some point, good or bad. Even if it's just to rant at the current leadership, which we see all the time. At the end of the day, MR is what you make it, and if you have the patience to stick with it, you'll eventually make it into something just for you. Whether its roleplay, or chatting, or building units, or a gun, or all of the above. The thrill of competition, the hunt, the wars, the takedowns, the competitions, the community.

In summary, this game is one of the best things that ever happened to Me, and maybe one of the worst, at the very same time, but I won't trade it for anything. If I ever say "Fuck this game, I'm done!" (which we've all heard a billion times), I most likely will cool off, and come back, again and again. Kudos to Izzy, and all the staff that have made this venue possible and engaging for so many people for so long. I'm not sure enough of us show our appreciation like we should.

Anyway, I'm probably just rambling at this point, but I needed to get that off My chest.

We've all been there. When I started playing MR and its original counterpart, I was a teenager just starting my adult life. Now i'm in my thirties, married with two kids. Life has changed a heck of a lot for me over the years, but one thing thats remained constant is MR.

I'm yet to have an "I'm done with it" moment, but I'm sure i'll get one someday. Everyone else seems to, so I guess it's just a matter of when will it happen to me.

I agree wholeheartedly with what you said at the end, the Admins don't receive nearly enough credit for the world we escape to. Izzy puts his heart and soul into building this place and many people take that hard work for granted. Often the users can be over critical of decisions made in the heat of the moment but overtime we always come to understand them.

The user base has had many changes through the years, but its always maintained that community feel to it and despite the many different faces, there is always someone you can call a friend. Someone on the other side of the world who knows what to say to you when you need it and how to help you.

Thats why we come back. Thats why people always will. Its not just about the wars etc, these things are just how we bide our time, its all about the people and the friendships.

I totally agree Aeus!! It's the people that keep you coming back... each and every player you form a bond with, good or bad. I've had a few that I didn't like so much, but for the most part, everyone I've met, has been awesome.  

Dalton, dude, I agree wholeheartedly. This place has been consistently amazing over the past ten years I've been here. Our community is like no other, and I'm serious. MR blows away the competition in regards to the user base and game mechanics it's not even close. To be honest, I don't think I will ever leave this place. I have made plenty of friends along the way and each one of them is special.

I couldn't agree more Dalton.  This place is my escape and I'm not sure what I would do without it.  My wife and kids know that I play and there is so much satisfaction in looking into their eyes when the they are being ornery and saying "you better shape up....I KNOW people."

I had a break for a few years but came back to play properly last May during a particularly stressful and difficult part in my life. I had forgotten the sense of community that existed on MR and before I knew it, old friends were re-contacted and new friends were made. Glad I came back, glad I invested int eh game which kept me coming back when all the wars kept kicking off. Glad I am staying 

Have to agree with what is said here i have had 2 big breaks from here but even when on those breaks i would still atleast log onto the page and see who had been killed or if any wars have happened.

The community is why we keep coming back it is one of the best communities i have had the pleasure to be part of i have met many friends here and when i am not here i miss them.
