The Millenium Falcon Bar Started by: HanSolo on Mar 01, '16 12:18

"Cops need not enter, our illegal activities are much better hidden than this"

"Also, you can't handle our water"

The plaques are on the ground, laying against the building, and they are almost as big as the one above the door, with the name of the place: "The Millenium Falcon".

From the outside it looks like a small place, small door, small building squashed in the middle of two other bigger buildings, but once you get in, you notice the place is huge, and it occupies the space you assumed the other adjacent buildings would be occupying.

Other than a white Cadillac V16 Model 70 Roadster in the middle of the room, the only other decorations are tables, chairs and bottles on top of those tables.

The barman seems to be trying to fix a radio, and Han Solo is in a corner looking at the barman and shaking his head in disbelief.

"They said it was a top quality radio, I'm glad I didn't pay for it. There are people out there actually paying for this crap... What the world has come to..."

The barman notices you, walks up to you and says "Welcome to the best bar in Corktown, what can I help you with?"

The rookie Biagio running around Corktown and dont know what to do... then he decided to go his big brother's new place for couple drinks and congrats to brother.

When he enter the place barman greets him. He nods his head, look around and saw his brother. He went directly to go near him and says :

"Hi brother, i just got the news about the bar, it looks amaizing. I hope you will be successful. I am always at your service you know that."

and then he ordered one battle of whisky to celebrate it even its too early too drink..

Han Solo saw his little brother Biagio come in and smiled. He was really proud of what Biagio had accomplished so far.

"You're too nice, B-Man! Thanks. I always wanted to open my own business so I'm very happy with this." Han turned to the barman and said "Jimmy, bring us the best whisky we have, none of that watered down crap" he turned back to Biagio and continued.

"I know what you're thinking, but our last shipment of booze is late and we need to keep the local drunks hooked on something. Anyway, how's life, little brother? How's business? Want a cuban to smoke?"

Han took two cuban cigars out of his coat pocket and extended them to Biagio.

Biagio sups his whisky and took cigars that his big brother extended to him and took deep breath..

"Everything is good actually except one thing. I am trying and working too hard to earn some money but lately i got involved that damn Dice.. I lost good amount of money still trying to recover it. How about you? You seems so quite lately, everything alright at home bro?"

Then realise again how good is smoking with whisky..

Han shook his head in disbelief. He lit up a cigar for himself and poured some whisky in his glass.

"You got addicted to dice? I've seen many large amounts of money lost to that... In the end... House always wins, little brother... Gotta be smarter than that."

Han drank a little of his whisky.

"Well, I have some issues with the ex-wife I'm going through. It's always tough on the kids, but I've been mostly busy with all the business I've been getting. There's a lot of opportunities out there."

Innocenza heard about HanSolo's new establishment in Corktown and decided to visit the place. It had been a long and tiring day for her. She had so many things to arrange and do this day that she definitely needed to relax with a nice glass of wine. As she walks down the streets of Corktown she notices "The Millenium Falcon". As she stands in front of the building she opens the door. The air was filled with the overpowering scent of cigars. Innocenza didn't like the smell of it but it wasn't a reason to turn around and walk away. She notices Biagio and HanSolo sitting at a table and she walks towards them.

Hey guys, how's it going? Innocenza says as she takes place at the table. Those must be very heavy or not? Innocenza asks as she looks at the cigars both are holding. As she looks at the bottles on the table she notices there isn't a wine bottle. "Do you have wine as well HanSolo? Or a rum with coke would be great too.

While Biagio explaining "No no its not addict i just tried twice and blocked 1 week after that loose and dont think i will try it again" saw his big sis Innocenza entering the bar. He moved to other side of table and make place for the sweet RHM of Borgia family. After he heard she wanted to wine, he ask her "How about hot wine? Did you ever try it? Maybe not here but it is so good at outside and cold weather"

Report Post Tip

Innocenza looks at Biagio.
"Hot wine? Do you mean gluhwein? I do like that to be honest".  Innocenza smiles. "I used to drink that when I was iceskating. I assume you can imagine iceskating didn't went very well." Innocenza giggles as she thinks back when she was a teenager. She loved iceskating, but also the hot chocolate with rum and cream and the gluhwein to go with that. I was always a great treat.

Nefer moves a little on her chair holding a glass of pink Martini. She was paying close attention to Biagio and Innocenza that seemed to be in a flirtatious mood that night.

she looked around and made a gesture to the bartender to take her order:

- Please sir, can you serve one of your best wines to that couple sitting close to each other next to that jukebox? Oh and if possible play the song Earl Hines Trio - Dream of You, I think it would be appropriate to the occasion.

As the song is playing Kawir comes and invites Nefer to a dance.

"Forgive about my ignorance my Lady. I dont know the exact name i just tried it twice when i was student at Poland and Slovakia with my mates. Even i am fan of wine it was still good tho. Maybe because of cold weather hahah"

and then turn to the HanSolo;

"How about you brother did you try it? Maybe we can bring it here too. Some ppl can like it especially ladies like it so much for my experince"

and watch the lovely couple Nefer and Kawir dances..

While dancing with Nefer around the hall, Kawir noticed how stunning she looked with all the bright lights surrounding her. He wasn't exactly sure if it was her sparkling eyes or the cute smile that made him feel so heavenly but he had a certain feeling that he was the luckiest man alive that night.

He took a last sip from his scotch and nodded at the barman to get him a new drink and turn up the volume a bit because one of his favorite songs was playing on the radio.

“I haven't been in such a nice bar in a long time my love. It's been a rough day for me trying to chase down those filthy crooks that stole my wallet so right now I couldn't ask for more”. He smiled at Nefer while grabbing her waist even tighter than before and kept on dancing with her in a slow but steady manner.

Kawir was already feeling tipsy from all the booze. He and Nefer sat down at the closest table and he then raised his glass to HanSolo.

“My friend, I wish you all the best with this new business. The city of Corktown was in need of a place like this, so may this be the start of many great things”.

He then glanced over at the bar where Innocenza and Biagio were having a blast. “Those two look like they could use another glass of wine” he thought to himself.

One dark evening, A had heard the buzz of a new bar in Corktown. All day she heard of how great it was with the customer service as well as the drinks. As A sat down in her normal dark alley, she heard a passerby talking to one of his friends, speaking about the same bar, the The Millenium Falcon Bar. To A, the bar seemed like it would be a popular joint with tons of people drinking alcohol and having a nice time. Although A was a bit anti-social these days, she decided that one of these nights, she’d make an appearance.

As A walked out of the dark alley, she sighed and looked up at the cloudy sky, her eyes starting to glisten with tears. “One day... I’ll feel it again." she muttered before she looked down, rubbing her face silently. A couple of weeks before, A had begun to have a bit of a problem, her boyfriend up and left her, saying he wasn’t right for her, when all she could say was that he was all she wanted and more, but that didn’t seem to help. He up and left which meant she was left out on the streets, other than her being able to stay in the HQ a few nights a week. A was always welcome in the HQ, according to the CL, but she felt self-conscious when she stayed nights there, so she tried not to do it often.

After a minute or so, A began to walk down the street, looking around in silence until she saw the plaque above the door, the plaque reading ‘The Millenium Falcon Bar.’ “Finally.” A muttered before she noticed the plaques leaning against the building. After reading them, A chuckled and shook her head before opening the door.

As A walked in, she looked around, hearing the sound of music playing and the sounds of many conversations taking place. As A walked further in, she pulled the hood of her coat closer to her before she sat on an empty stool, waiting to be noticed by the bartender, noticing he was attending to other customers as a dutiful bartender would.

Han saw Innocenza enter the Millenium Falcon and instantly got up to greet her, almost tripping over a chair and his cigar falls to the floor.

"I didn't want more anyway..." Han picked up the cigar and put it in the ashtray.

"Yes, of course we have wine! Welcome to the Millenium Bar", he went to the bar searching for his best bottle of wine, as the bartender just stood there and looked at him. "Jimmy, open up a window! Do something! What am I paying you for?"

"You're going to pay me?" Jimmy the bartender muttered to himself as he went to open a window.

Han overheard the conversation between Biagio and Innocenza and replied to his little brother. "Hot wine? I can't say I ever heard of it, we gotta try it. Where have you been, in the old continent? I'm sure you have a lot of stories to tell."

When Han finally found a good bottle of Liebfraumilch 1928, a good, sweet german wine. He got up and saw Nefer and Kawir dancing, poured a few glasses of the good wine and raised one in the direction of the dancing couple before taking a sip.

"Good stuff" he whispered. "Feel free to try it out folks, it's very good" He extended one glass to Innocenza and another one to Biagio. "There's a candle over there, feel free to heat yours" he jested to his little brother.

Han saw A and came to greet her. "Hey, you're very welcome to the Millenium Falcon, what will you want to drink? Want to try that Liebfraumilch?"

Report Post Tip

Innocenza smiles as HanSolo hands her a glass of wine. Thanks so much. She starts to laugh when HanSolo tells them to use the candle on the table to heat their wine. I'm sure this wine isn't supposed to be heated.
She tales a sip from her glass and searches her bag for her pack of cigarettes. Unfortunately she picked up this bad habit from her mother. She lights one and throws the package on the table. If anyone wants one, feel free to take one. I have another full package in here. She says as she shows her bag.

Innocenza was pleased to see some familiar faces around. Hi Nefer, how are you doing hun? She asks when Nefer takes a seat at the table after her dance with Kawir.

Report Post Tip

Nefer, after having an enjoyable dance with Kawir, got a sit at same table with Innocenza. Fixing her hair a little, she smiles to Senza and nods;

"Im doing fine hun, had a long day at work and a couple meetings but I'm glad i can finally sit here and enjoy this wonderful evening with my friends. I'm planning some arrangements tomorrow and was thinking about having a dinner at my place so I would feel honored if you could join. Oh I'm sorry I think I got carried away and forgot to ask how are you doing my dear.

Calling discreetly the bartender she ordered a two Tequila shots and some tacos while hearing Senza telling the news.

As A sat there for a moment, thinking in silence, she heard the sound of the bar man, speaking to her. "No thanks, I'll just have a strawberry daquri, whip cream, no cherry. " she said as she then pulled out a cell phone, checking it before returning it to her pocket. As she waited for her drink to come, A looked straight ahead, hearing the soft murr of conversations occuring, it blending in with the soft music in the background.

He couldn't pronounce the name.

He couldn't even find a way to enter the door without opposable thumbs. There were always ways around this however, he'd usually just sit there perched on a pole until someone would walk on in. This time it was different though. As he walked towards the business he could feel the door open to his whim. It was like magic.

"Wh... huh..."

Not wanting to give away his newfound telepathic powers, he quickly sauntered his way over to the bar itself and tried to play it off as cool as he possibly knew how.

"I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. WHAT DOOR? I'LL TAKE A MOJITO. FUN FACT: OWLS LOVE MOHITOS."

After nailing the cool act, he sat there and waited for his drink to be served. What else could he move with his mind? Maybe he would try later, or now... staring at a piece of paper off to the side, he tried to bring it over with his mind, but to no avail. He was still new to this, but it would come in time. He was sure of it.

That's when the piece of paper fell to the floor.

"Whoa."

It was probably just the wind...

The book lay untouched on the table. Rob didn't want to lose himself in a story while he was here to meet someone. This was a long shot, he wasn't even sure someone would show, let alone have answers. Up to now there was little that could possibly give insight into his new associate. Because the postcard with girls parading down LA's boardwalk had nothing written on it, Rob had decided to use the business card. Of course there was the note mentioning 'Charlie', but the same sentence told this man was difficult to communicate with. Nothing a proper swing of a baseball bat wouldn't solve, but Rob sensed this man hadn't deserved a treating like that. Aside from that, the letter did not mention a family name or an address, so that was pretty much a dead end.

Just the business card with on it a fancy name, without doubt belonging to someone of the local high society.

It's already the third night Rob sat here staring at the Black Rock he had placed on the bar, waiting for someone to recognise the hint. The bartender didn't ask questions since Rob payed handsomely for the rum he got served discreetly in a coffee mug. Discreetly, not like Rob's new associate who appeared to draw some unneeded attention at times. The latest were the rumours of his unruly behaviour in Philadelphia. Day one the lad had called himself with the news of impressive profits. On day two he wasn't back in Chicago yet. Then on day three the word was that he had hit a local thug. The guy had it coming, but it drew attention. Rob's associate had a sharp business mind, but he carried the attitude as if no-one could touch him, as if someone was always watching over him. Not necessarily a bad attitude in this business, but the lad could use some direction and tact in his future dealings. Rob needed to find a way to get through to this kid.

Rob opened the silver pocket watch he had nicked that morning at Central Station. Looking at the time he decided to wait for one more hour before going back to the hotel.

The note appeared in her morning mail; an anonymous transfer to a safe deposit box in Detroit. She'd almost missed it being Monday. Paperwork day. The bane of her existence and a very rough start to the week. But as she pushed open the door to the Millenium Falcon Bar, she left paperwork, her office, and Monday behind her. A cocktail to toast another day done was in order, and hopefully she'd find her mysterious benefactor.

Looking around, Via found some familiar faces and a sea of unknowns. She'd never been a patron of this place; her own businesses in Detroit and Chicago proved to be pressing at times and leading her with little opportunity to explore the rest of what the city had to offer. But mysterious calling cards were a weakness and a reminder of her more daring days as a youth.

Approaching the bar, she signaled for the tender to approach. It was only when her eyes fell that she noticed the polished black river rock on the worn wooden bar. The rock looked exactly like the ones she placed on the fallen of her brood, thankfully still a rather minuscule number. She turned once again to scan the room.

Report Post Tip

From origin a bartender himself, Rob was able to read people who appeared at a bar. She was the only one who gave notice to the rock, albeit briefly. For many a rock would mean nothing, but she connected to it as if it was part of herself. Rob tried guessing what business she'd be in. She had an air of self-confidence, but she was observant as well, not ignorant of her surroundings, as if the little things could be of value to her.
There was only one way to find out.

"God, let her not be a boring pen-pusher." Rob mumbled as he stood up and stepped up to the bar.

"Leaving, sir?" The bartender said. "We can expect you tomorrow again?"
"I'm not leaving yet." Rob replied. "I saw the lady here order a cocktail. In these days of prohibition I was reluctant to openly order a mixed drink, but seeing this, I cannot resist to order a Cuba Pintada here."

Surprisingly the bartender knew the mix and went to work. Rob turned to the lady.

"To openly drink makes you either a reckless person or someone who knows the FBN won't barge in the door for a random check at this bar. You don't come across as a reckless lady, so that makes me wonder how you learned what the FBN does."

The two looked in silence at each other for a brief moment as the bartender backed off, knowing this was not the conversation to listen in to.

"I have observed people come and go for the past few nights. You stand out from the average customer and your eyes rested on the black rock, when others would've scanned for an empty table to sit. Pardon my curiosity, and perhaps my pronunciation, but are you Traviata Parile?"
