You hear a shouting coming from a near-by building, as you turn over to look you see two large security officers chucking a scrawny looking, bandanna wearing bandit into the middle of the road. He picks himself up, turns around, smiles and then starts to murmur. After clearing his throat he tries again... To all in their youth and all the old farts, hello and welcome to the streets of Chicago to hear me speak me old mind.... Many of me ancestors joined the dark-side and I'm of no exception. When I hear of trust and unity I don't quite know if it's at all possible for all of us to be one with following our own rules, I know there only about to keep balance but don't you think there is more to this life. The majority of us have one large flaw and that's that we take our family for granted and I'll be honest in saying that I think I'm apart of that as well. I think I'm alright until I get to a certain age, then I need more, I get into this rut and its extremely hard to bring me self out of it. Many places I've been; many faces I've seen, many choices I've made and many people I've shamed. I'm smart though, YES ME!!... Well...in tight situations I believe I'm able to come out on top, so although I may not be a text book genius I have the street smarts, the oul common knowledge as it were.. I can talk to this years common psycho, we have many of them, who cant speak out here, but there new and have to be taught like the rest of us, I can talk to them as if I was talking to anyone else. I can get to the oldest has-been first before anyone else finds his address and tracks him down. I hit more 7/11s than your average Joe-soap. I'm still always searching for more..... I would like someone who isn't in the majority of us which has the large flaw and let us know what goes on in that brain of yours, what you think when joining a new family, when serving that family and maybe even after all that, working alongside that family. What keeps that family ring on your finger? |

stands with her arms folded across her chest listening to the man speaking. She ponders what he is saying for some time. Seeing no one else speaking she takes a step forward and wets her lips a bit. I would have to say first and foremost, what keeps me loyal to a family is acceptance and value. Those with the most members or the most power are of course enticing to anyone of their right mind, however, sometimes in some cases, you feel somewhat overlooked. I am sure it's not on purpose or anything like that, but my ancestors have been in families where they felt like a real, blood related family. And others, not so much. More like co-workers. I myself crave that feeling of belonging, as I am sure many others do. And I like feeling like I am more than just facts and figures to a CL. What goes through my brain when deciding is who's blood line is heading up the family, and who's are members. Also it helps to have a catchy name... laughs a bit nervously and swallows... Also it is very important that a family stands by their word and respects the common rules of our world. Families who do this have made my bloodline proud to work for them. |

I'd like to think I don't take my family or crew leader for granted. I know that without them I am nothing and am much more likely to be killed in my sleep. Sometimes I wonder if I do put in enough effort to truly show my appreciation for allowing me shelter and my position, but I think I've done well overall. When joining a family, it is firstly for self-preservation--I won't lie about that. As a gangster running around on the "turf" of some Mafia family and stealing their profits, you're prone to have a few bullets flying your way. Families offer shelter and protection by associating yourself with a powerful organization. When serving a family, I try to do everything within my ability to prove to my boss that I am loyal to him and to show him how grateful I am for the protection he's provided me. I abide by all rules and orders given, don't make a fool out of myself in public, donate money to help the family at large, train my gun to help protect the family, and offer to assist in any way I can. What keeps me loyal is knowing that I am helping to make the family stronger and more cohesive. It's this drive and passion to continually improve that makes this life worth living to me. As Miss Sienna touched upon, smaller families are usually much more close and have a truer feeling of unity. I'd like that for the hundred people with whom I work as well. |
