Veiw of Omerta Started by: Hova on Mar 18, '16 11:38

The sun was coming up in Las Vegas, dark skies were turning orange. Hova's hands were getting dirty from building on to the sands of the desert. Wise Guys stand on a street corner arguing about criminal ethics. They should be selling smoke.

One of the Wise Guys turns to Hova seeking guidance,"Hola Hovito! What's your take on Omerta? People should have the right to speak their minds. How can we live in a world where one cannot express their opinion?" The Wise Guy looks over at his comrades,"I'm going to say what I think to whoever and others should do the same."

Hov chuckles as he looks down at his watch, "All this Omerta talk is so confusing. We are mobsters."

He looks back at the Wise Guy, speaking loud enough for everyone to hear,"How I was raised, you never let anyone outside the family know what you're thinking. I take account when people have a problem with others keeping their mouth's shut. It really tells you something about a person.  Excessive talkers create enemies where there were none before. Its sad but true, I know that there are others that know this. Even now, as I express this idea, I can sense the spectrum of reactions to it. The few who might think similar, the ones who disagree, and then there are those who simply do not care about this concept. But I will keep right on about my business." Hov adjusts his suit.

"To me, Omerta is important, but that doesn't mean friendship isn't in order. Kindness is not weakness and if you are unkind, don't expect weakness in return. Not to say that anyone does. How I see it, if you have nothing nice to say, practice the real Omerta. The worst kind of enemy is the one you never suspected. The one's you don't see coming, always do the most damage." Hova gets into the back seat of his Rolls Royce, putting his gun in the seat next to him.

He puts the window down to say one last bit before leaving,"Sure there are disagreements but the thing about arguing with fools is that, from a distance, people can't tell who is who." He rolls up the window and leaves the Wise Guys to their business.

Report Post Tip

Omerta is an excellent concept. But I fail to see how anyone in this thing of ours can ever truly say that they practice it.

information is king, it always has been and always will be. The key to ever removing your enemy in this life is having the right information. Chances are, the information required will come from inside the family/district/city of those you are going to attack. It's just the nature of the beast that someone you put your trust into will turn out to be the one that caused your downfall, so perhaps your enemy isn't the one to be wary of after all.

Excellent point Tyrion. I've seen that cause some destruction in my lifetime.
