New Orleans Business Bonanza Started by: Kates on Jan 23, '10 11:52

Kates leaned back in her chair, looking down at the traffic on Canal Street. She'd purchased the office building on the busy corner a few weeks ago and had been slowly transferring in her operations. The entire top floor was hers, split between a spacious penthouse suite on one end and her office on the other. Maps of New Orleans and Louisiana hung on the walls of that office, interjected between the bookshelves and artwork that she'd collected during her life. Kates stood smoothly and gazed out towards the French Quarter, where Jack was undoubtedly going through his own process of getting his HQ up and running. There was so much to do. And so little time- it was only three weeks away! She grabbed her coat and headed for the door.

Emerging into the lobby from the elevator Kates winked at her security detail behind the front desk and made her way out into the streets, where she addressed the crowd.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Legitimate coughs and smiles businessmen everywhere! If you're interested in making money, I advise you to listen up.

Many of you know that I have a great love for the business district. And now that I am responsible for a city I have every intention of fostering a thriving business district within it. I'll keep this short and sweet. New Orleans, because of its excellent drug prices and high traffic, is prime territory for anyone looking to start up a popular business. And I'm offering some extra incentive as well. If you come to New Orleans, get your business approved by RebeccaMacleod, and run a quality business for at least the next 24 days I will personally pay you a million dollars.

Here are the conditions:

1) Again, your business must be approved by RebeccaMacleod. If you are in New Orleans and desperate to begin construction, you can get in touch with Kates, Swayzak, or JackMacLeod if she is unavailable.

2) You business must be of a high quality, original, thoughtful, and well planned. Other than that, it can be anything you wish.

3) You must be in your business as much as possible on Tuesday February 16th. Kates will personally visit every business that day. If she is impressed by the quality of the experience she will immediately deposit one million dollars into your bank account.

4) After February 16th, continued excellence by business owners will be rewarded by further payments.

So if you have a business in another city and you're looking to open another branch... if your parents ran a business and you're looking to bring it back in a vibrant new city... if you're one of the few and the proud who consider the business district and the streets the heart of our experience here... then what are you waiting for?

I believe I've been straightforward, but at this time I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Francis was walking quietly down the streets, when be saw Godmother Kates making an announcement, Francis heard everything and can't help but smile, he was certainly good enough for this, quality in business was one of his other talents, he left the streets and directly went to the HQ and to his room, he pulled out a couple papers out and started planning the blueprints

Please note that this is still in effect. I will not, however, be paying out any money to people who mosey on in to the city and set up shop immediately before the 16th. Their business would be welcome, but a reward would not be forthcoming.

Second to last announcement: To be considered for this prize, your business must be open and running on February 13th. If V-Day hits and your business is not up, you will not be eligible.

Thank you to the several who have already created their blueprints and had them cleared by RebeccaMacLeod.

Shall be interesting to see how this business idea of yours, Godfather Kates, will help make you money and in the process further improve and develop New Orleans. I myself keep well away from the New Orleans business district, would be nice for that to change.

Final Notice: You will have the remainder of today to get your business approved by RebeccaMacleod and set up in the New Orleans business district. Any businesses not up and running by midnight tonight will absolutely be welcome in the Big Easy, but will not be eligible for the Mardi Gras day prizes mentioned above.
