Dr. Boom had just watched his last patient fade before his eyes.  The virus had claimed many, many lives in 1919 during the horrific outbreak.  It had not made a resurgance since then, but it looks like today was the day it decided to return.  The first victim had arrived at the hospital last night with a high fever and profuse sweating.  The physicians had done everything they could to control the fever but their efforts were futile.  The man had been a member of The Celtic Club, employed by DannyGreene.

After the case had been confirmed the doctors had decided to make a visit to their head quarters.  The virus was extremely contagious and they feared the worst.  It was easily possible that the mafioso had spread it to anyone he had come in contact with.  They had to act fast to prevent an epidemic.  They raced to the HQ as fast as their cars would carry them.  They wrapped on the door furiously to no avail.  No one answered.  DoctorBoom decided to break the door open to reach the sick patients.  When the door came down they were greeted with the stench of death.  They checked every single member of DannyGreene's family but they had all perished in the night.  The good Doctor covered his mouth as he exited the building to address the crowd.

"As many of you have heard the Spanish Flu has made it's return to our world.  We do not yet know how patient zero aquired the virus, but he did indeed spread it to the rest of his family.  He was the only one to make it to the hospital to alert us.  Despite our best efforts the entire family has fallen to the illness.  The area of the Brox is now under a quarantine order for everyone's protection.  Please, do not handle any corpses unless you are a properly trained medical professional.   If we can stop the spread of the virus now it shouldn't reach anyone else."  

"Rest in Peace to our fallen mafioso comrades.  You will be dearly missed."

The good Doctor puts on a fresh pair of thick gloves and a mask and returns to the HQ to continue processing the dead.

Why are jokes being made of these war explanation speeches?

Is there no respect given to someone who was a Crewleader anymore?

If you don't feel the need or want to explain the reasonings behind taking someone out that's one thing, but to make a joke of the whole situation, in my honest opinion, is ridiculous.

Can we not conduct ourselves with a little more respect than this? It's so sad to see that this is what has become of our world.

Geez Doctor my whole family has died from that very fucking virius.  I've lost my Da, Granda, Uncle, Brother and Great Aunt the same way over the last year.  Just called around one day to say hello and all these fuckers we're stiffs, one dropping ever few months.  Just bad luck I suppose.  Does get boring after a while. No doubt it genetic and Ill contract the death virus someday and drift away while I'm sleeping.  Would just prefer to stare death in the eyes before I go rather that in the night...

Joe Gargotta's younger brother, Henry Gargotta, was standing in a corner, listening to the Doctor's speech. Then, he paid attention to SammyGarcini's words, and, when he had a chance, he started to speak.

That's curious. My brother was a very healthy man. Strong guy. Tsc...when I heard of his death, I immediately flew to New York, to pay my last respects to him, of course. They did not even let me see him. Can you imagine that? Me, his brother. They just closed the casket. I wonder how much damage this flu made to my old brother...

He looks around briefly.

Anyway, life goes on. I just wish you all to take care. We don't want to lose anyone else to this fucking flu, right?

SammyGarcini, because no one gives a fuck. When no one will hold anyone accountable for their words or actions, they're free to say and do whatever they please. Reminds me of a whole city that died in a bus crash a few months back... Weird!

Nothing new there, itoliano. Unsurprisingly, people in power have always been free to say and do whatever they please. 

Well no, PeterPerttits. They haven't always been free to say and do whatever they please. If they had such freedom they'd still be around today, wouldn't they?

That freedom is enjoyed whilst they are in power. But yes, eventually they were killed. Just as everyone who is currently enjoying the same freedom will eventually be killed. 

My point was there is nothing new or particularly extraordinary about those at the top not having anyone hold them accountable whilst they are in power.
