Okay, with alot of business in the Business Districts now abandoned due to their owners deaths, its made me wonder about some things..

Is it okay posting in bar threads in which the owner has died and no one has come forward to carry it on. Does the business die with the thread creator, assuming that his/her next character doesnt carry it on. Or maybe, is it okay to assume ownership of an abandoned business? Or hell the last option is does it really matter, just post away with out a care?

I mean, you can RP any of the eventualities you want, but does it come down to some sort of bar thread RP etiquette that you shouldnt enter a dead mans RP bar... I honestly don't know.

Just curious to peoples thoughts on this

There's a Business District?

I think when someone dies all of their business' and threads should be deleted.

I agree with Tommy_Carroll I think all threads should be deleted when you die. not only in the Business District but in the streets as well.

I wouldn't go so far as deleting the Business District threads of those who die. Instead I suggest the locking of these threads. History buffs like a bit of nostalgia and they do provide the newer people reference sources for role play tips at times.

Street threads should absolutely not be locked or deleted upon death. That is our history. I still refer to threads from last year. Sometimes the old stories and rants come in handy.

I think that some time should be given for the son to take ownership if they wish to do so and after a week or so or the death if no next of kin claims the business, it should be destroyed.

I totally agree with CrazyNine here.
You shouldn't lock (Nor Delete) before a pre-determinate amount of time.
There should be given the opportunity for someone (A descendant, most likely.) to claim it, under that amount of time.

im going with CrazyNine too. but only including the business district. as for the streets, the story of the deceased should stay because loke DirtyLittleSekrit said, it is our history.

i agree that no street thread should be locked or deleted on the owners death. howerver i think that buisnesses should be left alone also. for instance,a  MR friend of mine died and i steped in and ran his pizza place. now his grandson has taken over and runs the pizza parlor again but it took almost three weeks for him to get back to it. i think that if a new owner or a cartaker steps up there is no reason to lock or delete a buisness.
