Bored? Create a Character! Started by: Kates on Jan 30, '10 10:51

"What do I do now?" "I'm just bored." "I have nothing to do."

I've heard these statements from people in all walks of life, from Don to Gangster. And one solution that seems to stick out is to actually play a character.

As far as I can tell, there are essentially three groups of characterization here. The first group isn't playing a character at all. The second group is playing a character, but their "character" is exactly or mostly just like them. The third group actually creates and roleplays a character.

How many people are in the first and second groups? 80%? 90%? If you're bored, or if you're looking for something more out of the game, trying joining up in the third group. Think about your character. Perhaps even intentionally make them different from you. Give them a back story. Give them a temperament, and a look. And see what happens as they make their way through this world.

Now an old thread like this used to exist, so I'm hardly being unique here... but to be honest, just about all the people who posted in there are dead. Except for me. So here's a new one, since engaging and understanding other peoples' characters can be just as rewarding as creating your own.

It's all happening- why not learn/share a bit about your character?

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname- if so, how'd they get it?

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why?

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?

5) What skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"? What do they do well?

6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

7) What sort of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business district? Why?

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

9) What makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why?

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

11) What does your character truly fear?

Report Post Tip

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname- if so, how'd they get it?

Kathryne Rossi MacLeod. Nickname "Kates". Her nickname was pinned on her early on by her father, in the vein of his favorite poet.

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why?

Long, dark hair. Emerald green eyes that are the trademark of her bloodline. Kates generally alternates between two very different styles. The practical black pants/boots/tank top that she wore on jobs for Marietta when she wants freedom of movement, and the variety of striking dresses that she wears on more formal and everyday occasions. Her clothing allows her to show off her body, which she flaunted relentlessly (to the chagrin of her mother) as she worked her way up the ranks. In later years, she's grown more conservative in some regards. Most importantly, she seems to have won the genetic lottery and hasn't seemed to age past her last thirties. Many doctors have tried to study her, but they've all wound up in the hospital themselves.

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

Kates grew up in Las Vegas, essentially raised by three men: MacLeod, her father. AdrianChampagne, his RHM. And PedroRourke the Elder, his LHM. Adrian taught her to appreciate the finer things in life. PedroRourke, who was ex Navy and head of her father's security detail, taught her from a young age how to fight, move, and kill. Her father taught her everything. Kates was present as the enemy hitsquad arrived to kill her father. They let her escape with her life and she fled to Detroit- but the murder of her father both solidified her dedication to the business while also deadening her to a part of it.

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?

MacLeod, her father, was a Don in Las Vegas before his death. Marietta, her mother, was Godmother of Detroit. Harry, also known as "Death-Knight", was a Godfather of New Orleans. Naomi, her adopted sister, was killed while serving as Kates RHM. She had a child with her fiancee, Judge Holden, before a misfire claimed his life. JackMacLeod is currently serving as her underboss in New Orleans, where her granddaughter Rebecca has also joined the organization.

5) What skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"? What do they do well?

Kates has acquired many skills in her years of being in "the business". She is in impeccable physical condition and excels at both armed and unarmed combat, including a hidden blade she had constructed based off a Japanese dagger she'd found on one of her targets. She also strives to be an eloquent speaker in the streets. Though she rarely chooses to do so anymore, she is a practiced seductress. Her greatest skill, though, is her intellect, which has guided her from a young homeless street thug in Detroit to where she is today, even if her dedication to cold rationality has cost her a friendship or two.

6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

Kates had a variety of shortcomings when she first became a member of this thing. She does, however, take failure to protect her loved ones very hard. The sense of failure surrounding the deaths of father, Judge Holden, Naomi, and Lily (particularly) has threatened to overwhelm her once she removes her detached mask in the privacy of her own room.

7) What sort of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business district? Why?

Bars. Alcohol is Kates only real drug of choice. Unless you count sex.

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

Kates is well spoken and well mannered, unless she's presented with blatant ignorance, stupidity, or threats against those she cares about. Though relatively few have earned the full measure of her respect, she tends to err on the side of courteousness when dealing with men and women of any rank.

9) What makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why?

This is probably the thing that has changed the most over the years. First it was automatic, just to keeping moving in the wake of her father's death. To impress Godmother Marietta. To live up to the standards of her parents. To make a better world for her son. Love.

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

Kates has certainly tangled with quite a rogues gallery. A Japanese equivalent of a Don, a suicidal woman bent on avenging her husband's death, and an American war reenactor seem to stand out. JimmyTheLionheart was in the wake of her father's murder, but she eventually realized that it was only business and moved on. Though she has been involved in various wars, they've never been with someone she considered an enemy prior to the initial volley. Perhaps RourkeyRourke was an enemy.

11) What does your character truly fear?

Dying alone. But more than that, not being able to protect those she loves. And bears.

Kates, I applaud your efforts to get more people involved in the character development. Getting involved in the RP portion of the site increases the fun and activity alot in my personal opinion.

Report Post Tip

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname- if so, how'd they get it?

Michael James Uxley. I go by "Mux", since we all know most people can't string more than a syllable together these days. It's simple, it's easy to remember.

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why?

Michael is about 6' 5", and has trouble finding clothes to fit his legs. Because of that, all of them are custom made. His suit, his pants, even his hat, is tailored to accustom his body with comfort.

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

Mux was born in New York, and his mother died in childbirth. His father owned a Deli. He worked there, serving various types of meat until his father was gunned down by a mafia family member. It was later confirmed that the assailant had been dealt with, but the damage was done. Michael would grow up an orphan. He was taken in as a young teenager by CrazyNine, who walked him through the high-life of the mafia. Mux DID attend law school, but it was only so he wouldn't need to pay hefty charges for a lawyer.

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?

All of Mux's family is dead.

5) What skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"? What do they do well?

Mux is a greedy bastard. He knows how money works, and he knows how the law works. He was trained to "speak properly" by any standard. Mux purchased a shooting range not too long ago, where he could do his own target practice.

6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

Mux has few weaknesses, although it seems some have managed to exploit his compassion. Because Mux has seen the bottom, and risen to the top, he can sympathize like a mofo. So, if ANYONE comes to him, looking for help, he would oblige as best he could.

7) What sort of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business district? Why?

Well... That strip club seemed to have gotten Mux's attention. And $500,000.

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

Mux is a friendly, well-spoken man to his peers, and an utter asshole to his underlings.

9) What makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why?

Money. Mux was never "rich" until he got with the mafia. Ever since then, he would do anything to get more.

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

Maybe that Hades character, since he IS the god of the underworld. But, beyond that, nope.

11) What does your character truly fear?

Mux fears... Stupidity. He has a simple fear that someone stupid will rise to power, and no one will be able to do anything about it. Obviously, this hasn't happened, but it's always in the back of his mind.

His parents were around most of the time but his father worked 7-6 so he didn't see him much because by 5pm, Tommy was out dealing. His mother went out working on Fridays helping disabled people. Tommy attended primary school and secondary school but dropped out after his 3rd year. Tommy's family was well off but Tommy wanted to do something exiting and new so him and some friends formed a little gang. saved up some money and flew to America. 6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

Tommy has a weakness for a beautiful set of legs, nut other than that the only thing that scares him is aunt Betty, Ugh.

7) What sort of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business district? Why?

Tommy likes a little drink now and again, but not too much, he doesn't look good when hes drunk. He also enjoys record stores and jazz halls.

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

Tommy likes socializing, but never talks about his love life or his personal thoughts on people like "Look at that bastard, all high and mighty with their servants and lobsters!"

9) What makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why?

Tommy has an urge to get up in the morning, eat raw eggs and work out in the gym for a couple of hours, but when he breaks the egg in the glass, he freaks out and makes a sandwich instead.

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

Tommy doesn't have any enemies yet, and hopefully never will.

11) What does your character truly fear?

Tommy truly fears that when he gets drunk he'll go and have a one night stand with some girl, and she'll still be in his house the next morning.

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname- if so, how'd they get it?

Lillian David Visochi, shortened to Lilly. The firstborn of my bloodline are named after my great grandmother, whether they are male or female.

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why?

Lilly has shoulder length brown hair, normally pulled back with a clasp. Normally she wears a white blouse, black or grey trousers tailormade by an old family friend in Sicily. Black boots specially made from snakeskin. The family trademark is the glossy hair.
She has a small scar on her forehead due to a misplaced headbutt.

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

Lilly never went to school, she was too busy helping on the family run farm on the outskirts of Salice near Messina. When she was 14, she accidently shot a fellow worker & had to get away quickly, or face jail. She contacted her grandmother who was resident in New Orleans. Within 24hrs, was on a boat to Glasgow, where she spent 2 years learning from an old family friend before heading to the "Big Easy".

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?

Lilly's grandmother was a Don in New Orleans, before being brutally slain in an alleged conspiracy against her Godfather.

5) What skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"? What do they do well?

Lilly was brought up in the fields & is as strong as an ox despite her slender build. Although she won't move a few inches from her beloved pistol, her weapon of choice is a knife. The reasoning being that it's more personal when you slide a blade between your target's ribs while looking into their eyes & seeing life drain from them.
Lilly is rather short tempered & doesn't suffer fools.

6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

Lilly's weakness is her temper & is currently talking with the local preist to try to tame it

Anything her Godmother Kates has an interest in

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

Lilly is a person of few words, prefers to keep herself to herself, unless matters force her to.

Lilly is awake before dawn, wants to make the most of her available time.

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

Lilly doesn't bear grudges, she prefers to take matters in hand as they happen, so she has no enemies.

11) What does your character truly fear?

Not being able to protect those that truely matter.

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname- if so, how'd they get it?

Sneakyrat's real name is Tom Pierson... he calls himself Sneakyrat ever since his father, a great mafioso died and left him alone in this crazy world when he was 11. He had to survive and doing crime was the only thing he could do.

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why?

Although this was'nt publicaly know yet, he wears a black overcoat and likes to wear dark suits and white shirts. His trademark is his cane, yes he has a cane and at the end of the cane... the hand part is a scuptured rats head. The cane is oak and the rats head is plated gold. Why black, well because he is a cold man. He prefers dark colors, ever since he had to survive on his own.

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

Well... i think i answered that on the first question. He quit school when his father died... they place him in a foster home but he left them in the middle of the night. No one could replace his father. Besides, he knew plenty of people who would help him out.

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?
No family, and yes he was very involved in organized crime... and still is hehe...

5) What skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"? What do they do well?

He is a good listener, but has a temper also. Sometimes he has to pace himself and breath a little before acting. But he is a smart man and always find the right solutions. He tries to bond the best he can with his fellow uh... "co-workers". Being a good friend is what he does best.

6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

His temper, but he is working on that. He is a perfectionist... what ever the issues he encounters, he likes to know how they get solved. And takes notes in order to not repeat errors he has encountered in his time.

7) What sort of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business district? Why?

One that touches everybody. Why? Because it is good for business. The more the merrier i must say.

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

He is a friendly person, but when it is important he goes right to the point. And does'nt mind speaking his thoughs about something, even if the people dont like what he thinks. But he also believe's in free speach, so if they dont agree... that is their choice and he respects that.

9) What makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why?

People who does what they are asked and does it right away. He hates slackers... why? Because slacking is never good for a family... Their is a reason for everything, if someone of higher rank or position asks for something, he will always deliver as soon as he can.

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

Maybe, we all do... but my character does'nt hold grudges. What is done is done, most issues are solved at the spot anyhow. So i dont see the reason for holding a grudge. I always believed communication is way better than silence.

11) What does your character truly fear?

People that talk too much instead of listening... because it could get us all killed. Communication is the key to success. Lack of communication has always been my greatest fear!

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname- if so, how'd they get it?

Marcus Jones, more commonly known to his friends as Falcon. The nickname Falcon comes from his youth. As a young child, he was always jumping from roofs, trees, or any high place. His father considered him crazy and gave him the nickname Falcon one day when he noticed the amazing predator soaring thru the sky as his son leapt from a tree branch

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why?

Usually Falcon can be seen wondering the streets in a dark gray suit with a bright red tie. The red tie is a long standing trademark of his familys. Passed down from generation to generation, they wear the red tie in honor of their long family line of success and power.

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

Falcon was raised by his mother in the Washington DC Area. His father and mother seperated while he was very young. His Father, the late Ragnarok, took his other son, Ragnarok Jr to Chicago, leaving Falcon and his mother alone in Washington DC. Despite multiple attempts by his mother to reunite the family, it just never worked out. Falcon held his mother in contempt for many years over this. Ultimately, it lead to him finding his way into a life of crime. Following his older brothers footsteps, determined to make something worthwhile of himself, he dove head first into the dark and dangerous world of the mafia.

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?

Falcon's father was Don Ragnarok, a member of the late Sidious's godfather family of Chicago. His older brother, _Ragnarok_ was a Don and a crewleader in Las Vegas, working for Godmother Aurora. The death of his father shock Falcon, but the loss of his older brother _Ragnarok_ was far more painful. _Ragnarok_ was Falcon's hero, every move Falcon made was an attempt to impress his older brother.

5) What skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"? What do they do well?

Falcon tends to think of himself as con artist. He possesses the ability to cut deals with even the stiffest sellers. The lies flow so easily from his mouth that even he sometimes gets lost within them.

6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

Authority is something Falcon has never cared for. While he understands that respect must be given to those above him, he cares little for the law, and for those who attempt to enforce the law. Often times you'll find him breaking the law, just for the rush of doing it. Even with the police hovering near by, Falcon will attempt to get away with it.

7) What sort of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business district? Why?

He's a fan of the brothels and strip clubs. Dancing girls and prostitutes have always kept his attention. From time to time, you may find him in the local dive bar, drinking bourbon and reading the sports paper.

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

He tends to be a loner, interacting with people on a required basis only. He prefers to work alone, not wanting to be bothered by someone dragging him down.

9) What makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why?

Success, and power. As a kid, he saw his mother struggle to support him and her. Never wanting to be at a point where he wasnt sure if he would ate or not, he is motivated to push forward. No matter how tough the objective is, he shall complete the task at hand

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

I wouldnt call him an enemy, because enemies pose a threat to you, but Dwight-Schrute is quickly becoming a thorn in Falcon's side.

11) What does your character truly fear?
Dying before achieving the success he wishes to achieve

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

SM grew up in Italy during the early 1900s. His father was killed by Italian mobsters, as were most men at the time. His mother kept him hid so he could not be dragged off to war by the government. Eventually, he was found and forced to fight, while his mother was brutally raped and murdered. They shipped him off to war in 1915, when Italy entered. He worked his way up through the military, eventually landing himself a position in Arditi, the elite troupe of Italy during WWI. He fought in many battles including Caporetto. The entire Italian 2nd Army was obliterated and SM's outfit suffered many casualties but he was able to survive. After the war, SM defected to the United States. He "retired" from the military and went to work for a deli in New York. After several years of working in that deli, he ran into Don Sherminator and a few of his henchmen. They quickly became good friends and Sherminator was able to get him some work on the side.

6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

SM's weakness, if you consider it that, is helping his friends too much, whether they need it or not. This can/will backfire when business gets in the way.

7) What sort of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business district? Why?

All businesses are welcome to SM, as long as they make things "turn green".

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

SM is a very friendly chap and you wouldn't know he was in the military. Another perk of his training.

9) What makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why?

Money. Plain and simple.

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

No enemies in his current life in America. Several enemies from his past who have been killed or have died from old age.

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname - if so, how'd they get it?

Arynn Emily O'Connell. Her nickname is wordslinger, due to the fact that she is, as well as a mafioso, an aspiring author. "It's like a gunslinger," she tells people who inquire, "but with words instead of a gun."

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why??

She has an intricately designed treble clef tattoo on her right shoulder, and, should anyone ever get close enough to tell, a small scar at the base of her neck. She has silky brown hair that falls to her waist, and blue-gray eyes. Traditionally seen wearing simple clothing; she believes that spending money on clothes is a waste, especially when you can come by good, cheap clothing from somewhere other than those nasty department stores.

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob???

Arynn grew up under the watchful eye of working class parents, both of whom worked those silly office jobs in New York. At sixteen, after saving up enough for a one way bus fare, she travelled to Philadelphia, which has since become her permanent home. She attended school up until that point, but never felt the need to go back; they weren't teaching her anything. She could write without their help, and was certainly not learning any street smarts from them. No, those she would have to learn on her own... which is about the time she was approached by an old friend who, in the end, was the ultimate deciding factor in becoming part of the mob. Between his convincing and her need to improve what she thought was a pretty shitty life.

4) Does your
character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are
they civilians???

Other than less than a handful of close friends, she has no family that she cares to associate with any longer.

5) What
skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd
negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"?
What do they do well???

Arynn's main skill is, as could be expected, her way with words. No deal has ever fallen through that she negotiated. Besides her skillful tongue, she is also quite skilled with a knife, both at hand-to-hand combat as well as throwing knives.

6) What
weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely
inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to
improve these areas???

She struggles with making new acquaintances, much less friends. She has trust issues that prevent her from getting close to people. She is working on this, however, and is trying to expand her circle of confidants. Also, she tends to get carried away with gambling.

7) What sort
of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business
district? Why???

Anything involved with gambling; see above. Also, any books stores or such would probably attract her as well.

8)
Generally, how does your character interact with other people? ??

She doesn't. She tends avoid people if it all possible, other than those within her family and those she trusts. If approached, she won't refuse them, but don't expect her to speak first.

9) What
makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why???

The thrill of the day. Carpe diem. She just wants to enjoy life to the fullest, take risks, have fun.

10) Does
your character have any enemies, either current or from their past???

No. She tries to avoid making enemies.

11) What does your character truly fear?

She fears that which she does not understand. Basically, she sees everything as a learning experience, to avoiding running into situations that she doesn't know how to handle.

Report Post Tip

My apologies for the crappy formatting on some of those questions... not quite sure how that happened. =/

Report Post Tip

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname- if so, how'd they get it?

Jimmy 'Irish' Farrell. He attained his nickname from being the only Irish kid in a predominantly Italian-Jewish neighborhood. Another nickname that has followed this man was attributed to him by the great Don KingBenny the nickname was 'Cutty' due to the fact that Jimmy had a fondness to slice the throats of late payers to the Don.

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why?

Jimmy Farrell is around 6'5 in height, wavy black hair and his trademark eyes, as emerald as the island as he is native to. He is also of a stocky build, as said by his father "Built like a brick shit-house". He is usually seen to don a silk cut sleeveless shirt, black slacks and black loafers.

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

The childhood of Jimmy 'Irish' Farrell was a very colorful one. He started his childhood back in the old country, but him and his family moved across the ocean to New York. He broke into his teens being in and out of school and constantly in trouble with the police for minor offenses. It was in his teens when he began to work under a Made Man of KingBenny's....Leone, usually accompanying the wise guy around on many of his errands. On his twentieth birthday, Jimmy was sent to collect from a debtor of Leone which ended in disaster as the client refused to pay. Around this time the war with Los Angeles raged, and seeing his employers wiped out Jimmy chose to move and attempt to make his millions in Chicago, finding work available with Jim Levenstein and the infamous CrackerJack Coalition that ruled the city.

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?

Jimmy has several cousins dotted around the United States and back home in Ireland, all these cousins being involved in legitimate enterprises. But Irish does have high hopes for his nephews.

5) What skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"? What do they do well?

As Jimmy's alternative nickname suggests Jimmy has a fondness of improving his knife play, favouring a switch blade. Farrell also is noted to be a conversationist enjoying good relations with his family members and a few trusted friends in New York.

6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on trying to improve these areas?

As any good respectable Irishman, Jimmy Farrell has a extreme weakness for strong booze and wild women. But many attempts by his closet friends to try and steer him off this path of destruction of his liver have proved redundant.

7) What sort of businesses could attract your character's attention in the business district? Why?

As stated above Jimmy has a strong fondness for booze, so it would be a wise move to put money on him favouring a pub, bar or club of some sorts.

8) Generally, how does your character interact with other people?

Farrell is usually quite cautious and unsure of new people, especially new business acquaintances. He is more of a refined person rarely speaking in length. But to close and trusted friends and family members he can talk your bloody ear off!

9) What makes your character get up in the morning? What do they want? And why?

As he usually quotes to many of his friends his wish is to reach the top of the pile of the criminal underworld of the United States. He also lives by one of the famous quotes of one called Al Capone, "It is said that you can get further with a kind word and a gun, than just a kind word."

10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?

Jimmy Farrell expects that he has quite a few enemies here and there, but he also expects that he is too intimidating and that they are afraid to reveal themselves.

11) What does your character truly fear?

Fear itself!

Report Post Tip

1) What is your character's full name? Do
they have a nickname- if so how'd they get it?

Victoria Bonfilia Celeste Corleone. Her
nickname is Pepper. It was given to her by her Mother Olive because even in her
youth she was bold and boisterous and outspoken. Her grandmother always
said she had the spice of life, after hearing this Olive nicknamed her child,
Pepper.

2) What is the appearance of your
character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of
clothing do they wear and why?

Pepper has a rich caramel complexion, long
dark wavy auburn hair and butterscotch eyes. She is tall for a woman and has a
way of "speaking with her eyes." On her left shoulder she has a distinctive tattoo,
a green olive with the words, "In Onore Della Mia Famiglia." When she's not
working she is known to wear beautiful dresses, usually in black or red, her
favorite colors. Any other time she wears a simple pair of black slacks and a
white lacey blouse. She is never without her long black trench with buttons trimmed
in silver, always has cigarette to put in her long black holder and holster her
gun around her right thigh when wearing a dress and one under her arm and
another around her ankle when she is not.

3) What was
your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents
around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced
their decision/life as part of the mob?

Pepper was known to be
clever and witty even as a young girl. Her family was always amazed if not
caught off guard by her ease of comprehending things way beyond her years. She
was born in Venice but often traveled to Rome to visit her grandmother. Pepper
was raised by her mother, Olive. She never knew of her father and her mother
did not reveal much about him, including his name. Just that he was not
involved in the mob in any way and after her refusal to comply with his demand
that she give up her life of crime, he left. Pepper was homeschooled by her mother
and her grandmother. Pepper's mother was killed during the war, leaving her
alone, this led Pepper to seek out a family in the only place she knew where to
look, the mob, to make up for the one she lost.

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved
in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?

Pepper is the granddaughter of Olive
Corleone, the daughter of Olive Corleone II and the niece of Orison Corleone.
They were all a part of the mob and died serving their mob families. Pepper's
grandmother was hardened by loss early in her life. Her sister Giovanna
committed suicide shortly after Olive was born and lost her mob mother and many
friends in a violent shoot out that she later learned was orchestrated by corrupted
members of her own mob family. Soon after she joined another family and not
much later was burdened with the news that her brother Orison was killed in his
sleep at their family home by a member of his own Mafioso for pick pocketing a friend
of said member. Olive died a while after this and did not live to see the day
her daughter was killed during the war.

5) What skills does your character have? Are they
familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with
their "co-workers"? What do they do well?

Pepper is quick on her feet and thinks fast under pressure. She
learned to fire a gun at an early age and has been in a knife fight or two, so
she keeps a straight razor in her purse and a switch blade in her pocket. She
is known for her sound advice and calculating decision making and is very good
with money. Though she can shoot well, she is not trigger happy. She keeps her
gun in her holstered until there is no other option such as in the case of
rats, conspirators, rogues or anything else that puts her family at great risk.
Pepper doesn't mind exploiting men's weakness of the flesh, she has also been
known to seduce the best of men. She gets along with everyone until the prove
undeserving of her company and friendship.

6)
What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are
completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? Do they plan on
trying to improve these areas?

Pepper is very unforgiving in many different
situations, making it hard to be her friend at times and can come off as cold
to people who don't know her well. Her memory goes back a long time and she is
not afraid to hold a grudge even if it is slightly petty and especially when it
comes to money. Pepper is sometimes too money hungry which makes her superiors
sometimes second guess her. However she is always eager to prove otherwise and
tries to do so whenever it is brought to her attention.

7) What sort of businesses could attract your
character's attention in the business district? Why?

Pepper is always attracted to anything that
will land her a large some of money but when she's not trying to make money,
she is usually bar hopping in the hopes of finding a good time and good tequila
or trying to find a restaurant that has the fine cuisine she is accustomed to.

8) Generally, how does your character interact
with other people?

Pepper is very outgoing and sociable, not
matter where she is or who she is around.

9) What makes your character get up in the
morning? What do they want? And why?

Pepper gets up in the morning for the
excitement this life brings. She enjoys the thrill of living on the edge.
Pepper hopes to go far in this life. She wishes to be prosperous and start her
own family one day, as all in this life aspire to.

10) Does your character have any enemies, either
current or from their past?

Pepper has not made any enemies as of yet but
the night is still as young as she, so who can say what enemies tomorrow will
bring?

11) What does your character
truly fear?

Leaving this world before her time.

Report Post Tip

1) What is your character's full name? Do they have a nickname- if so, how'd they get it?

Francine Dilalie. She prefers not to be known by Francine, as her abusive mother called her by that name only. She will take any nickname that suits the occasion, and otherwise reverts to Fran or Frannie.

2) What is the appearance of your character? Do they have a distinctive trademark? What sort of clothing do they wear and why?

Fran has blonde hair that grows in ringlets, and is rarely straightened. It ranges from shoulder length to just below the shoulders. Her eyes are shocking blue, and her skin pale. She fiddles, always in motion, and chews on either an errant strand of hair or her bottom lip.

3) What was your character like growing up? Where did they grow up? Were their parents around? Did they attend school? Did anything happen to them that has influenced their decision/life as part of the mob?

Fran comes from a privelaged background, with a fair education for the time. She was home tutored, which she hated. It meant yet more time with her mother. Her dad left before she was born. The scandal had almost cost her mother her inheritance, and she blamed Fran for this. Fran eventually ran away from home. Without a plan she ended up as a bum on the streets, and learnt how to defend herself. After Don Bruiser by chance saw her take out a mugger, she stepped on the first rung on the ladder to becoming a mobster.

4) Does your character have a family? Are they involved in organized crime as well, or are they civilians?

No contact with any family.

5) What skills does your character have? Are they familiar with weapons? Shrewd negotiators? Do they excel at building bonds with their "co-workers"? What do they do well?6) What weaknesses does your character have? Are there areas where they are completely inept or challenged? How might this affect them? And why?10) Does your character have any enemies, either current or from their past?11) What does your character truly fear?

5) Fran, despite her crippling clumsiness, can fight reasonably well with her bare hands, but with a weapon quickly becomes a liability. She most enjoys the administrative aspect of this life, planning, coming up with systems to avoid the cops, organising crimes and rotas. She is the kind of person who would colour code a hit. 6) Main weakness is her clumsiness. She walks into walls fairly often. Tends to get nervous at inappropriate moments. 7) stationary shops, games, higher-end restaurants. Wouldn't step foot in a bar. Does drink, but only sparingly. Anything that looks quirky and interesting. Not the same club/restaurant/bar that was there last week. 8) Fran starts most conversations with an apology. Mostly after walking into the person she's apologising to. After that her mode of speech is usually bubbly, and fairly informal. 9) Fran wants to change her life. This is as radically different from her upbringing as she can manage, and she likes it that way. 10) No known enemies 11) She fears her mother.
