Sure. The motive for taking out the rest of them was that you can't really shoot a Godfather and not expect his city to retaliate somehow. So for the continued safety of my city, it was necessary to obliterate them.

Are you misunderstanding how it works? every crew in Detroit worked for Pedro, hence would defend him. You (Usually) cannot shoot a Godfather without having his Crews try and defend him.

Do you have any suggestions on who maybe best placed to go over and rebuild Detroit now then?

Detroit is attacked and the Godfather taken out.  The attacking cities would be negligent in their duties if they didn't take out everyone that could turn out to be a threat now or in the future.

I would suggest the youthful Big-Guns should be considered a replacement for the late PedroRourke; though of course a regent would lead in his stead until he is old enough to take the position.

The bodies are still warm man. The decision as to who will lead Detroit will be decided at a later date. You can not expect everything to happen instantaneously. It will take a discussion among the city heads to decide who they feel is best suited for the job at hand.

My father stated this over and over. the way the Mafia does business is simple: If I (as in the leader of a crime syndicate) don't like how you do busineess, I take you the fuck out, or die trying. No ifs, ands or buts. At the end of the day, the Godfather of vegas didn't like how Pedro did business, she offered him the chance to negotiate, and when that failed she shot him in the face. No one has stepped up to save the reminants of Pedro's family, so the solution is for them to run for cover or die. I think the incedibly detailed explanation offered by Godmother Lucretia is adequate and self explanitory.

Big-guns clearly does not understand how our world works and unfortunately lacks the humility to stop and listen to the answers given to him. Again and again all these comments started as this clueless thug question again and again what was already explained.

Pedro was not killed for a "rule", he was killed for a Tax, or an Extortion. A demand of money. DT has a geographical blessing, it seems most civilians come into the country through there. When they were strong enough, they had the brilliant idea to Tax the crews to kill inactives over there. But what if we want to be able to kill inactives to keep our guns trained and our aim steady without having to pay for it.

Basically Lucretia asked to be able to do business without having to pay extra for it. Pedro thought he had the means to force Lucretia into paying. Instead of Lucretia waltzing in DT and killing bums just to have a few of her hitters killed for not paying the tax and then having to retaliate and kill Pedro and his crew and Captains, he cut to the chase and skipped the boring parts.

You are clueless. Pedro had a tax. Did he have the power to enforce this tax on LV? Apparently not. End of story.

Well if that's the case which one Godfather/mother single handed has the power to enforce their rules? Two godmothers/fathers attacking one usually become victorious in what they were trying to accomplish. Allies are key in everything. You can enforce over one city if you have power....but if that one city finds another (or maybe even two more) who agrees....the tables get turned dramatically.

I have no problem in why the war was brought down (it wouldn't matter if I did anyways)....but to say he didn't have the power to enforce it over one city could very well be false. My only problem in this is the wording used in a reply...not the initial address.

I believe Lucretia was entirely correct in her actions. That sounds traitorous of me, since my father served under the city of Detroit. However, when it comes down to courtesy is the necessity in any business deals.

It was very good of Lucretia to hold off shooting until she did.
