Cin had been thinking of the many people that roam our streets.. The various lines and virtues. She began to start writing some notes.

Dear Hopeless People,
Keep your head up. Keep trudging along. You never know when that bullet might remove your competition and your turn to rise will appear.

She stuck the first note up on a nearby bar window. The next one she pinned to a pole that most people passed.

Dear Leaders,
Use your time wisely. It's a privilege to be where you are, not a right.  You could do some good while you are there.

Skipping further along she quickly sticks the third one up on a bench next to the nearest park.

Dear Hands,
Some of you are chosen for various reasons, some of which I won't bother going into now. Use your time wisely too, you are supposed to be what people should want to be like. Raise those standards sleeves and get to work.

Chuckling to herself, Cin continued her random walk about through the streets.

Dear People of Our Community,
If you are bored, try to think outside of the box. Don't like something? Raise your voice (or if you really have to... your guns). Find something that you can do to make things what you feel they should be like. Work hard, fall into a coma during a war, whatever it is you need to do to keep interested.

She tacked her last message onto a bulletin board. There was tonnes more she could say but she liked to keep it short. Satisfied with her inspiration she wandered off to the nearest bar, it was time for a break.

I'm glad you were satisfied with your inspiration, Cin. From a personal point of view, I'd like to think I could always do more than what I currently am. That's just me though, always striving for perfection. Hopefully one day I can be like @PeterPertitits.

My hands are of a very high standard, at least I like to think they are. Some of the most hard working people I've ever had the pleasure to work with and for that I'm very grateful to have them. However I take some umbrage at the snide way you chose to refrain from saying to raise standards and instead said sleeves. Are you perhaps implying that there are people out there with low standards?

I feel cheap shots like this are very ill advised. If you've got something to say, just say it. Your fine leader is a woman who speaks her mind and has done on many occasions, so I fail to see why you try and shroud your comments in nothing more conjecture and platitudes. Say what you want to say and be done with it.

Also, as to the reasons for the hands, if you aren't going to go into.. why bring it up? Its like opening Pandora's box for a quick sneaky peek and then pretending like you weren't the one that opened it. You were, so either speak on it or have the fortitude to simply not say it in the first place instead of acting like you didn't shirk your own values by ignoring it, when in fact you did.

I quite enjoyed the basis of what you've come here to say today. But I feel very disappointed in how it was put across. Still, only my personal view.

Ah, Tyrion, I am glad to see that you have taken the time to follow up on my current inspirations.

If you are happy with what you are and what your hands are then that is all that really matters correct? Although you may view this entirely differently then I do. Actually I know that is fact.

There are many different types of people in our community. There are always talks about people earning their spots, and others being handed them. I am neither here or there on discussions for that at the moment. I just rather keep myself inspired to be better than the mute that nobody knows hugging the street signs over there.

As far as digs go, I'd plainly come out and say what I thought on anyone if I felt the sudden need to do so. Maybe there are people that aren't working so hard, maybe this will help them do so. Maybe it will give someone the inspiration to use their own voice and speak up.

Then again maybe it won't.

Cin shrugs slightly.

If any of this helps at least one person in any minor or major way, then maybe it is not so bad. Everyone should hold the aspiration to be the best that they can be. They should also try to remain inspired, set goals, be something different. In a world that is all the same, why not stand out when you can?

I disagree with this idea. I have no intentions of being the best I can be. Partly because it would be unfair to the mere mortals of this world who could never keep up with the super awesome mega expletive goodness that would emerge if I were to focus on making myself the best I can be, but it's more to do with the fact that at this time I'd rather assist others to become and maintain being the best they can be for as long as possible.

If we all strived to be the best we can be, it leaves very little time and resources to give others the full support they may need. Isn't being a member of a family/crew, an associate, a lowly un-made foot soldier about showing your dedication to the family and proving yourself a reliable team player above being a self investing out for number one type?

Don't get me wrong, if you've earned your bones and you feel that as a boss you're now entitled to make your sole vision self improvement, then good for yourself, but to say everyone should also, just isn't how it should be.

I would like to know what exactly why any of us are being told to use our time wisely, AND raise our standards sleeves and get to work.  

There are several things a hand does for their crew without the public knowing, or needing to know for that matter.  Does it mean the hands aren't using their time wisely because no one outside their crew SEES the work being done?  

Not everyone is vocal enough to venture out into the Streets, but that doesn't mean the people who don't aren't working hard already.  Not everyone is confident enough to speak out, even if they feel strongly about something, maybe in fear of being ridiculed for having an opinion.  The only opinions I myself care about are from my Don, and my city Leader.  As long as they feel I am working hard, and representing my family and city, it is of no one else's concern to whether I NEED to raise MY sleeves and 'get to work'.

Johnny had been leaning in the  alcove of his favourite bar, trying unsuccessfully to light his cigarette in the stiff Chicago breeze when he notices Cin pinning a note to a window across the street. He tries to flag her down but she doesn't hear and continues on to the next. Intrigued, he gives up on the cigarette and hurries across the street, snatching the note from the window.

"Dear People of Our Community,

He scans the note a couple of the times, trying to figure out if he's taken it out of context. 

"Why would anyone want to fall into a coma during a war?" he mutters allowed, before replacing the note and heading back to his bar.

Perhaps it has. Wars are stressful and nobody wants to die, but if they fear death so much that they'd rather bar their door and sleep through it in the hope that they will remain unnoticed and untouched then they are failing their leader and the rest of their family.

We have chosen a life of crime and violence; It's not for the faint hearted. Every one of us gets into this business knowing that, by the law of averages, we are not going to die of old age or get to walk off into the sunset.

I would be incredibly disappointed, were I a leader, to learn that a member of my family chose personal preservation over the safety and survival of the family as a whole. Even those who cannot fight overtly, can lend a hand.

What I find amusing it that it was assumed it was me who is afraid to be vocal anywhere, and that I am apparently supposed to be outraged....

So is it then when anyone speaks out in the Streets it is because they are outraged, or could it be they are offering their input and opinion into the discussion?  Just because I personally have not been running around the Streets every hour yelling this and that to whomever will listen, does not mean I am afraid to be vocal.

Shrugs.

When I spoke earlier it was a generalization of hands from all over the country, and spoke of myself only because I know for fact what goes on within my own family.  I cannot speak for any other family, but my own.  In that generalization I said "not everyone is confident", I did not say anywhere in that statement that I am afraid to be vocal.  I was merely offering an opinion to why anyone not just hands, could be steering clear of the Streets.

Maybe when I spoke in reference to my own actions, and thoughts on whether I should be raising my sleeves, it was concluded and assumed that I thought I was under personal attack.

If I thought I was under personal attack, I clearly would have spoken directly to you Cin and not to everyone in general.  Frankly I care not what you or anyone outside my Don and city Leader thinks of me.

Seems to me from the words spoken that anyone who offers an opinion here in this discussion, will be labeled as outraged or angry.  

Also I have no clue as to where I stated I wouldn't, didn't or couldn't use my time wisely.

Shrugs.

I also find it amusing that it assumed I was inspired by a person, rather than to say I was inspired by the topic, and that happens to be the truth for me.  I was drawn out for the topic, and I have given my opinion.  There are people that inspire me, and they know who they are.

So in conclusion...I am outraged, inspired, afraid to be vocal yet being vocal at the same time, not using my time wisely, need to raise my sleeves and be remembered.....Got it!

Rose walks off to get to work.  She is gonna be a busy bee.

What I do with my time is none of anyone's concerns, especially not my own. Therefore I strive to never use it wisely and waste as much of it as possible.
