Today was not just any ordinary day, today was the grand opening of a
new picture show. A show that talked about the things that we work so
hard to keep quiet. Our code of silence that should never be broken or
discussed was going to be displayed on the silver screen. A movie about
bootlegging, crime and violence all linked to organized crime. Should
the big shots down at Warner Bros. Studios be allowed to get away with
publicizing our business? I say no that they shouldn't be allowed to
get away with this.

Depicting a story of two young men doing petty crimes just like our
thugs. Things like smash and grabs, stealing purses and watches and
other petty things. Then it shows how they progress into bigger jobs
like robbing stores just like our earners. Then it shows the
progressing to wacking cops and running operations for a family.
Committing crimes like a Wise Guy or Button man would. These Hollywood
types in Los Angeles are going too far. Where do we draw the line? When
do we start using our control of the unions to stop these things? Or do
we go after the actors like Cagney and Woods? So I ask you my fellow
Mafiosi should we move to control Hollywood?

Well Mr.PaulVidi... interesting question you have there. Well we have been paying the cops for decades now so we can continu to do our little thing with no questions asked. So they want to put it up on big screen, i would say lets humour them. As long as they dont know who the real Boss's are and all the details of our way of life, it does'nt really matter. But we could always greace their palms aswell, but this options would need to have certain benefits go our way. I dont mind a little greasing, but there has to be something in it for me. Just like the cops... we scratch their backs, they scratch ours. And finally, we could simply terminate the big shot producer's career and set an example to the other actors or potential producers.

Vito sputters out his words between laughs and gasping for breath

"James Cagney as a Wiseguy?!"  He wipes a tear away. "You gotta be kidding me.  Hell I say, let 'em make their pictures, maybe the cops'll start eyeballing the pretty boys with the weak jaws instead of us."

"Hell, we might even get famous.  Picture it now:   Little kids asking Quirinus for his autograph like he was Lou Gehrig!"

Vito's laughter begins to wind down and lets out a heavy sigh

"I know, I know, I'm not 'seeing the big picture'.  I do see it, when something becomes popular and incorporated into the public psyche, they may cry out for investigations, task forces and legislation."

Vito taps his fingers on the table and stares of the window

"So what can we do?"

He approaches the discussion quietly, no Smoke today.

I say we bump of the director quietly and keep it under wraps. Not hard to pay a few cops to make it look like an accident when the investigation begins, but other directors will get the Idea.

Fuck with this thing of ours and you get hurt.

He wanders off pondering the Idea of the Mafia going on film.

Arynn slips quietly into the conversation, listening to others before speaking.

"Broadcasting our doings to the world? Sounds bloody awful to me." She pauses, thinking. "Controlling Hollywood could be to our advantage though. Prevent things like this from happening. Her eyes flash with slight humor. "Could you imagine the looks on their faces though? Real mafia right in their backyard, instead of some too-close-to-reality film they have concocted? I do believe that they do not know the true meaning of what we do."

She steps back, curiously waiting for others' replies.
