It wasn't much different than your ordinary day around The Cure HQ. Edelman was locked up in his office doing his thing.. and Lily was busy at her desk. Seemed the phone hadn't left her ear all day. 

BigHurt was at his desk calling around to check on a work order that had been put in about a week ago. A new wing was being added to the hospital in Black Bottom. Something Lily had put on BigHurt's lap at the time. A "project" she needed him to oversee.. ended up just being some construction work. Not much of a hassle for him.. Lily knew she could count on Big to get done whatever she'd asked of him. He'd been down to the construction site a couple of times to check in on progress. As of the day before yesterday, all was on schedule and today was to be the reveal. 

A lot of excitement was floating around HQ. Everyone was anticipating the move from Downtown to Black Bottom. Various boxes and articles of clothing were spread out in different places around here. It was as if each person had their own pile made up, ready to be gathered when the word to move was given..

Not long after getting off the phone with the contractor, BigHurt went to Lily's office and knocked. 

"Come in." she said.

Big opens the door and walks right up to her desk.. "It's finished. They are ready to reveal it." he says with a grin and a nod. The grin was to ensure himself he'd done a good job and the nod to assure her he knew he could get it done. 

"Fantastic! We have to go there now.. let me make a call really quick and you get the word out that we need everyone there quickly." You could sense the excitement in her voice.. but there was something else about it. Thinking nothing more of it.. Big went off to inform the others of the meeting at the hospital in Black Bottom.

"Everyone.. c'mon.. let's not waste any time. Inside we go." Lily says to everyone gathered around outside the hospital. You could see everyone's heads moving up and down and around the new structure standing before us. Others, from other families, were in attendance even. Their eyes were open wide.. jaws dropped.. the structure was beautiful. Made of red brick and concrete, arched doorways.. absolutely stunning. Once we made our way inside.. we couldn't believe just how nice it really ended up being. Interestingly enough.. it looked like a brand new headquarter's had been built. Some of the operating rooms were still indeed fully functional O.R.'s.. others were fancy offices and meeting rooms. Big already passed by two living rooms and had only walked by four doors. 

"Lily." Big says..

she smiles and looks at Big, "Do you like it? Cause I love it! Looks amazing." 

"It looks great in here. So.. what's all this for anyway?"

smiling.. she looks at him. He watched her eyes wander across the room and rest on the stage in the banquet hall. Lily walked over and up onto the stage, looking out over everyone... waiting for everyone to quiet down, with her index finger up to her mouth.. clearly a gesture to shush us. 

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice. At first we weren't sure this would be complete by today.. clearly it worked out well. Ladies and gentlemen of The Cure.. we've been given the opportunity to come set up in Black Bottom and make it our own. All of you are indeed to thank for the hard work and dedication that you've put in. We constantly grow each and every day. 

One thing that comes along with moving to an empty district, is expansion. So we've expanded the Black Bottom hospital to help us do just that. It's been designed to be housed as a headquarter. And what comes along with a new headquarter? Yep! A new city leader to run it." 

BigHurt could feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and his face get hot.. probably red in color also. Suddenly his hopes and dreams had flashed through his mind. All the blood his family has shed on these streets.. all he wanted one day was for his blood granted the opportunity to prove its worth. To prove that good people still get opportunity.. not just holding on to hope as it floats. This could be the moment he'd been waiting for. But what if...

"That being said.. I need BigHurt to come join me up here please." grinning at him she points down to the floor.. right next to where she is standing. He looks over at some of the family, all of them were grinning from ear to ear. Chucky, in attendance, gives a nod toward the stage.. clearly motioning for Big to go.. then looks over at Dollface, also in attendance, and smiles. 

he gets right next to Lily.. staring at her with his still warm face and hairs standing up. Edelman had made his way up to the stage and stood next to Lily when Big arrived to his spot.. pointed out for him by the boss lady. The three of them stood there.. Lily and her hands.. she looks over at Big..

"You asked me what this is all for. You've done a fantastic job for us. This family, myself.. we thank you! Your hard work and dedication has definitely not gone unnoticed. Godfather SpikeS and myself feel that you deserve the opportunity to run your own family. This is the perfect opportunity.. in a new district and a new home. New year new you, right?" she says while chuckling.

BigHurt looks out into the crowd and see's Godfather Spike joining in the festivities. Big had waited for this.. he knew who his sidekick would be and he knew exactly what he'd call his, one day, new home. He'd thought about all of this.. just in case this day ever came. 

Lily continues.. "At any rate.. ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the newest leader under me in Black Bottom Detroit.. BigHurt!" she looks at him and begins to clap..

"I just want to say thank you to all of you. My vision is very simple. An organization is to be ran in an organized fashion. Respect, Integrity, Loyalty, and Compassion.. those are core values. But please don't mistake my kindness for weakness.. rules and regulations are to be followed and when broken, require consequential action."

"We know how this works.. I can't do this alone and will need a solid couple to be by my side through this." .. his eyes fixate on Chucky and Dollface, standing at the base of the stage. Big waves them up to the stage..

"It's my honor to announce that Chucky will be my right hand man and Dollface my left hand woman.. they will help me guide our upcoming family in the right direction. In this beautiful new addition to the hospital.. our headquarters will be known as The Intensive Care Unit."

I am honored to be here, Great things to come! 

Innocenza heard that BigHurt was authed to lead his own family. She decided to pay him a visit. As she approaches the building she is amazed by how beautiful it looks on the outside. The inside must be just as stunning. She notices BigHurt, Chucky and Dollface in front of the HQ.

Well done Bighurt! I knew this day would come and you would finally get your own family to lead. I wish you the best and I am looking forward to work with you. You can always knock on my door if there's something you need.  Innocenza smiles and she turns towards Chucky and Dollface Congratulations to both of you as well!

Before she turns around she notices Lily just stepping out of the headquarters. She quickly walks towards her and hugs her. Congratulations on the move Lily! I know you will do great.

With a smile on his face Chucky walks up to BigHurt and shakes his hand.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity to be your hand here in the ICU. I would like to thank BigHurt, SpikeS and Lily for entrusting us to this very important and critical portion of this fine family facility”

Chucky takes a deep breath and heads off to start his new position.

“Oh one last thing Big, you will do great things here in BB, congratulations my friend!”

Esau went to the streets to congratulate an old friend of his, it had been a while since he was out seeing old friends, rumour had it there was a hit placed on him that he was trying to find the funds to pay off.

"BigHurt, your lineage has never had the opportunity that you currently have, I hope with this you can see this thing of ours from a different angle and profit from it in so many ways, mostly experience. I am sure you and your newly appointed Right Hand Man Chucky will do absolutely great in Detroit.

I wish you all the best with your new journey."

With that, Esau tipped his hat and made his way to some outstanding business he needed to deal with.

From the Headquarters of Lily, Karmen drove to the new Headquarters of BigHurt to congratulate him. She had brought a good bottle of Whiskey with her for him, and she approached the door and knocked. When the door was opened by an unfamiliar face, she said, "I'd like to see BigHurt please."

The door was opened further and she was allowed inside and told where she would find him. She made her way through the hallways to his office and knocked, opening the door when told.

When she saw him sitting behind a big oak desk, she said, "Hey! I had to come here and tell you congrats on getting your own crew. It's good to see you in a bold suit, my friend! It's very fitting!"

She handed him the bottle of Whiskey and said, "This is for you, as a gift. Brought it here from a lovely underground liquor store in Vegas that only a few people know about.. It's mostly for you though. So try not to let anyone take it from you!"

She walked around the desk to give him a hug and said, "I wish you the best of luck here in Black Bottom. I have a feeling you'll do great things and make everyone super proud. I'll get out of your way but I couldn't leave Detroit without stopping here first and congratulating you! See you around, okay?"

With that, she made her way out of the HQ and got back in her car, making her way to the airport. Her work in Detroit was finished.
