Today i was sitting in class listening to a boring topic of the 6 perceptions of psychology...i think thats what it was. It was 6 somethings that started with p at least.

Anyways someone brought up the idea that the only proper way to greet someone was a handshake and a "hello". My first thoughts were that this was totally wrong and I never use that greeting. In fact I hate touching people's hands, who knows where they have been. personally am either a hug person or a just say "hi" type. Depending on who the person is of course. My curiousity comes to this.

What type of greeting is best?

I would just do a informal "hey" if I knew them, or a more 'formal' "hello" if I didn't know them or for respect (like if they were a teacher or something)

I greet everyone with Good Morning/Afternoon depending on the time of day

I dont handshake anymore either, people are nasty

No huggers unless their hot chix. So its always a handshake, especially where Im from. I hate good mornings, I get it 10-20 times at work and my response everytime is Hi...lol or Sup.
