Ok so I need help with selecting a new pc and all I buy is HP...Dells last me an average of 6 months. My problem is which is fastest. How does a quadcore 1.6ghz match up to a 2.2ghz duo-core or how does the amd 2.7 match up to the intel 2.2....I just need something pretty quick to load programs for graphics, music editing/engineering/producing and video editing. Games are for my xbox :) I also like the bluetooth and wireless capabilities of these.

Quad core 1.6 means 4 x 1.6

Core Duo has 2 cores - so it's 2 x 2.2

AMD are better for over-clocking if you're into that, if not intel are generally considered to be better at multi core processors at the moment.

You want a lot of decent quality RAM, it makes a massive difference 4gb if you use Vista or windows 7, 3 if you use XP
