Now now, before you all start saying "There is a city forum already, a bar district!". That is not my idea. A few nights ago laying in bed, I had a great idea (I think).

I was thinking what is we had a city wide Forum? In the idea that the "City Forum" would be for all members of one city could see and use. So lets say Las Vegas. The city forum would consist of Lucretia, my tiny family, Cryptic, Youngsta, and Giovanni_Bontade. Every member of those families could see/use this forum as well.

Why this would be a good idea? I think it could improve the sometimes distant relations that different crews have even within a city. People from all over the city could sit and talk, smoke, drink as a city instead of just within their personal HQ's. Also, this could improve the city wide competitions that some like to have take place. This would be used to better organize and announce these events and keep the city on the same wave length.

Also, city wide recognition for those members of a family that truly stand out within their families. Someone who is excelling within a family rarely gets full recognition from the Godfather/mother seeing as they cannot see directly into that family's HQ/Crew page. This way, a leader could post a thread saying "Look at this guy!" and the entire city could see what its like to be an excelling mafioso within that city.

Would this city forum be viewed only while your in your home city similar to Business district?

I was thinking that it could be nation wide viewing area like the streets. The ability to communicate with your city at mass, at will. City wide viewable bars etc. I would not be totally opposed to the city deal, but it's just inconvenient.

Great idea Ricin. I had thought of something similar awhile back and was way too lazy to post it. I likened my idea to a city wide headquarters. Main reasoning I had was: if too many mass mails go out, people stop reading them. So leave mass mails to extreme importance and have a city wide HQ for contests, promotions and an increase of interaction between crews.

I also liked it being like a city-wide HQ and allowing thread and post wacking by the GF, his RHM and his LHM as well as the other city bolds, just like an HQ but expanded.

Also would have to code in for people sponsored within the city only allowed to view the forum, not civilians etc.

This is an excellent idea that has great potential for increased city interaction which has excellent benefits for gameplay.

Having spoken at length about this one with ScreamingButterfly in the recent past, I can't see a single negative to it. It's down to the city leaders in question what information goes in there, so no security 'issues'. The management/policing of it is in the hands of the upper structure members in that city, so again, no issues controlling it. While the fun and extra player interaction means far more fun for everyone involved.

It's something that I'd be very keen to see implemented, especially with the few minor tweaks mentioned by ScreamingButterfly.

Could also add in an option to chose who can and cant view this forum.

Either by individual choice or by rank.

This could allow some families to provide more info then one  normally could with anyone gangster and above being able to view it.

Fantastic Idea Ricin. This would be something that Zuldazar would love to see enter our world.

And to clarify one point, this forum would be strictly in-character role playing. I don't see the necessity for a City OOC.
