As an incredibly drunk rotund man sprinted screaming past Kates, she stopps short in her tracks and chuckles as he runs into a parked car.
Well, someone's getting an early start.
Turning, Kates makes her way from Canal Street over to the French Quarter, where JackMacLeod is barking out orders from his office. RebeccaMacleod leans calmly on the table to his left chatting with Swayzak. With a jerk of her head, Kates beckons all three of them out into the streets behind her. Getting everyone's attention, she begins to speak.
Good evening, everyone, and Happy Mardi Gras!
As you know, I have a fair amount of excitement going on for the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans. For contests, there's an RP contest, a costume (profile pic) contest, and business payouts (full details found HERE.
There will also be continuous jails running throughout the day in New Orleans. They will be happening at least every 20 minutes, but could come at an even faster rate if the Godmother is around and people are emptying them quickly.
A variety of new businesses have sprung up around the Big Easy and their owners have been encouraged to be present for as much of the Mardi Gras celebration as they can. Why not stop by one of the many fine restaurants and shops?
Remember, all costume contest entrants have to mail me with the words "costume contest" as the subject- then leave your costume on all day/night so I can review them! And all (RP) Mardi Gras adventure stories should be in the streets and ready to be reviewed before the clock strikes midnight of the 17th!
Lastly, the brand spanking new Renaissance Casino will be opening its doors at midnight.
So to sum up, the city of New Orleans should have a full functional casino, repeatedly full jails for 24 hours straight, a thriving business district, two big prize money contests, and a fantastic Mardi celebration for you to enjoy. Why WOULDN'T you be in New Orleans?
Ducks as a drunk woman tosses beads towards the group.
Anyways, enjoy yourselves!
Fireworks go off over head as everyone in New Orleans sprints away to enjoy the drunken revelry, parades, and varied events. |
